3 ways AEW could respond to Penta's rumored WWE debut
Pentagon Jr. seems to be making his debut in WWE soon after departing from AEW after the company recently teased his arrival. A vignette aired over on Monday Night RAW that flashed a logo associated with the Luchador and fans went nuts for it.
Tony Khan and his promotion won't be happy at all if they let another one of their biggest stars get poached by the competition. Now the ball is in AEW's court and we need to see how they'll play this next move once Pentagon Jr. makes his debut and garners a lot of attention for WWE.
Here we're taking a look at the potential moves Tony Khan could respond to Penta's impending arrival in WWE.
#3. Give another Luchador from their roster a major push
Now that Pentagon Jr. has departed from the company and his real-life brother is about to join him in WWE, there's going to be a need for another Luchador to step up and cover that spot. However, AEW does have an extensive roster and could easily cover that space by giving another star that top spot that would be left by them.
Tony Khan could either wait for Hologram to return and give him a mega push on his arrival, or build another star up in their roster such as Bandido, who has had return vignettes over the last few weeks. However, of the two he chooses to fill that spot would benefit greatly and could end up becoming one of the company's biggest stars.
#2. Tony Khan could respond with a huge announcement
Tony Khan and AEW would greatly need to bring eyeballs back into the product after WWE has shifted a lot of eyes onto its product. So, even though it's turned into a bit of a meme in the professional wrestling community perhaps going for another huge announcement to respond to its competition could be the right move.
Now, it depends on what could that huge announcement potentially be, if Tony Khan has a huge wrestler lined up to debut then he could announce that return such as the return of Jimmy Jacobs. Or perhaps, he could announce the debut of another anticipated star to the company to attract fans' attention.
#1. Convince Rey Fenix to stay in AEW
Pentagon Jr. has successfully spent the time in his AEW contract, however, his real-life brother, Rey Fenix still has time on his deal. Tony Khan had seemingly added injury time to his contract after which Fenix had spoken about inhumane treatment which added to the controversy.
If the matter could be dealt with internally, both parties would benefit greatly, and perhaps Tony Khan and Fenix could reach an agreement. Even though it would be hard to make him stay in AEW if he is successful he would delay the debut of the Luchador duo in WWE.
