3 signs MJF is in cahoots with multi-time champion for AEW Full Gear feud
A former AEW champion could have secretly worked with MJF to help him clear his path en route to Full Gear. The star being discussed is Wardlow.
The former TNT Champion has been absent from the Jacksonville-based promotion for many months. He suffered a knee injury, which was kept a secret until September. His last bout took place in March when he challenged Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship on 'Big Business' Dynamite edition. He was making appearances following the match alongside Undisputed Kingdom.
During the company's early years, MJF hired Wardlow as his bodyguard to protect him from attacks. However, as time went by, Maxwell mistreated him on live TV, and eventually, Mr. Mayhem turned on the former. The duo feuded for a few weeks, which Wardlow won. Later, the latter went on a single run. However, after some months, he joined Undisputed Kingdom.
The Adam Cole-led faction's main issue was with the former AEW World Champion. The stable took him out at Worlds End, which resulted in the MJF's absence until May 2024. While he has returned full-time, he is still taking certain weeks off due to movie shoots. At Full Gear, he is slated to face Adam Cole.
Adam Cole, who was on a long hiatus due to his ankle injury, returned at WrestleDream and resumed his rivalry with Maxwell. When he demanded a match against the latter, Friedman decided to add difficulties in his way, by challenging him to win three matches in a row. Another member of the Undisputed Kingdom, Roderick Strong, also wanted to face MJF and had to overcome the same hurdles.
Now that multiple enemies are coming his way, he may need some backup to take care of his business. Mr. Mayhem is the perfect name that could assist him. Let's take a look at some of the indications, which may lead to many fans thinking that he is secretly working with The Salt of the Earth.
#3. MJF desperately needed someone from the locker room to take care of business last week
The Salt of the Earth hasn't been present in the arena on Dynamite due to his outside projects. Although he has been observing his rivals getting close, he is not able to handle business. Last week, he offered money to Don Callis.
After the events that occurred on the previous Wednesday, he may finally rehire Wardlow to do his regular work, even when MJF is absent.
#2. Wardlow wasn't treated well in the Undisputed Kingdom
Adam Cole mistreated the former TNT Champion in the faction. Tension grew between them, especially after Warlow failed to capture the AEW World Championship in March. While multiple teases were done, both the stars were benched due to injuries.
It will be interesting to see if Wardlow seeks revenge on the Panama City Playboy after potentially aligning with MJF at Full Gear.
#1. MJF will need someone if the match at Full Gear is a triple threat
Last week on Dynamite, Adam Cole stated the possibility of MJF facing him and Roderick Strong in a triple-threat match of both the stars conquer the challenge. The Salt of the Earth then asked Don Callis for help. The latter then arranged a match between Cole and Don Callis' Family member Konosuke Takeshita. If the Alpha fails to win the match, things get harder for Maxwell at Full Gear.
Maxwell may need the former TNT Champion's help at the show. The pay-per-view may be the best place for Wardlow to return if he has fully recovered from injury. It will be interesting to see who between Adam Cole and Roderick Strong advances to Full Gear.
