AFL Injury News: Richmond key forward ruled out for at least 2 weeks in fresh blow for the Tigers

Richmond Tigers' key forward Tom Lynch has been struggling with a hamstring injury and will miss the upcoming matches for the club. After a long break, he returned for a match against Hawthorn but felt soreness in his leg. Scans revealed that Lynch had been struggling with an injury in his right leg, which was different from his previous injury in his left leg.

Tom Lynch will not be in action until Round 18 of this season. Recently, Richmond Tigers general manager Tim Livingstone provided an update on Lynch's injury, revealing that the AFL star will probably return in Round 18 in a match against GWS.

Speaking of Tom Lynch, Livingstone said (via Richmondfc.com):

"Unfortunately, Tom did not pull up from the game well, so after further investigation on his right hamstring, we sent him for some scans, and they have come back and shown a minor strain.
"Upon return to the Club on Friday, Tom commenced straight back with the rehab group and is tracking along in his recovery for what we anticipate will be a return in the Round 18 game against GWS.
“Tom is an important player for us and put in a lot of work to get himself back to full fitness, so it is disappointing he will miss some more football, but also important that we get him right," he added.

Notably, Richmond Tigers last played against Hawthorn in Round 14. Unfortunately, it was a tough day for the team, losing the match 49-97.

Richmond Tigers faced Hawthorn Hawks in their recent match but struggled throughout the game. The Hawks took an early lead with a score of 27. By the end of the fourth quarter, the Hawks had secured a score of 97, while Richmond scored 49.

Richmond Tigers to play against Carlton in Round 16

With a total of eight points, the Tigers are in 17th place in the season standings. Meanwhile, Sydney Swans have been dominant throughout the season. They have won 13 matches and are leading the standings with 52 points, 12 points ahead of Carlton Blues.

The Blues have also played 14 matches this season, winning 10 of them, and are in second place. Essendon Bombers hold the third spot, while Collingwood Magpies are in fourth place.
