Greater Western Sydney Giants captain Toby Greene and forward player Jesse Hogan were suspended for a week for rough conduct during their last game against the Carlton Football Club on Saturday.
In the afternoon game, the Blues beat the Giants 117-98 in a tough contest. However, an incident during the game led to the suspension of two key players of the Giants.
Captain Greene was suspended for a marking contest with Jordan Boyd during the fourth quarter. He was suspended for careless conduct, meaning tht the incident was unintentional. There was medium impact, reflecting and high contact, which affected the other player above the shoulder.
Additionally, Greene was also fined for careless contact with an umpire and was fined $1250. Meanwhile, Jesse Hogan was suspended for striking. He was involved in an incident in the goal square with Carlton's Lewis Young, which resulted in suspension due to intentional conduct, high contact and low impact.

The Sydney Giants take on the Brisbane Lions on Thursday, April 25, with the game scheduled to start at 19:30 AEST.
The Greater Western Sydney Giants began the 2024 AFL season with a 121-82 victory against North Melbourne in Round 1. They maintained their strong performance, beating West Coast 108-43.
Their winning streak continued in the Round 4 match against Gold Coast, where they triumphed 117-89, followed by another victory against St. Kilda in the next round.
Meanwhile, Brisbane suffered losses in rounds one and three against Fremantle and Collingwood, respectively, but swiftly rebounded with a much-needed win against North Melbourne in Round 4.
