Port Adelaide dealt massive triple injury blow during 10-point AFL Round 7 win over St Kilda
Port Adelaide suffered a significant triple injury blow during their 10-point AFL Round 7 victory over St Kilda on Friday, April 27. The Power produced a hard-fought 82-72 victory over the Saints but lost three players to injury.
Captain Connor Rozee, forward Sam Powell-Pepper and defender Alir Alir suffered knocks and had to be substituted. Rozee went off during the third quarter after a hamstring injury. Powell-Pepper ruptured his ACL after landing awkwardly on his right leg and could be out for the rest of the season.
Meanwhile, Alir was on the receiving end of a reckless tackle, which made him concussed. The 29-year-old defender went down hard after a challenge from St Kilda's Jack Higgins. The Saints forward has subsequently been handed a three-game suspension for rough conduct.
Rozee, Alir and Powell-Pepper will likely miss the Power's next game against Adelaide on Thursday, May 2. Adelaide lost to Collingwood in Round 6 but held on against St Kilda, registering a fifth win of the season.
With a 5-2 record, the Power are fifth in the league and have accumulated 20 points.
