Arifureta season 3 episode 8: Hajime and Yue beat the last cockroach soldier as everyone meets the labyrinth master
Arifureta season 3 episode 8, titled Grab Hold of Hope, started where it left off in the previous episode as a new spell opened before Hajime and company after which everyone's personalities changed to the opposite. Moreover, their relationships also got reversed as the more they loved someone, the more they hated them.
Due to this, Hajime and Yue claimed to hate each other to death. Meanwhile, Tio became more mature than her previous demeanor. The biggest detail of this incident was how everyone thought of the cockroaches as cute little beings, instead of vile creatures. However, deep inside, they knew that the cockroaches were their enemies.
So, Hajime and Yue started competitively fighting the cockroaches in hopes of beating them. While Hajime utilized his artillery weapons, Yue used her weapons to keep killing the cockroaches. On the other hand, Hajime's teammate and the Hero's Party continued their fight under the guidance of Tio, who now acted like a grown-up adult.
Unfortunately, the cockroach soldiers kept returning even after they were annihilated through Yue's twin dragon magic. Therefore, ultimately, she had to rely on an ultimate magic technique for which she needed to focus. Following this, Arifureta season 3 episode 8 saw Hajime give Yue cover from the cockroaches as she collected mana.
Ultimately, Hajime couldn't keep them in control and had to hold onto Yue. Fortunately, she had charged enough mana and launched her ultimate attack titled Cull: Divine Purgatory. As expected, Yue's grand attack defeated every last cockroach as the area cleared. Moreover, everyone's feelings reverted back to normal.
After reuniting, Arifureta season 3 episode 8 saw everyone getting summoned to the top of the World Tree where the labyrinth master, Lyutillis Haltina appeared. She congratulated and rewarded them with Evolution Magic, which could evolve any form of magic.
She also mentioned Concept Magic which Hajime took particular interest in. However, this magic was extremely hard to master as the masters of 7 Labyrinths were only able to make 3 relics from this magic with all their expertise. Arifureta season 3 episode 8 then saw Lyutillis giving Hajime the relic she had, the Everlasting Compass.
This compass guides its user to their wishes, no matter how unusual they might be. Moreover, these wishes could also be other-worldly, making Hajime think that he might be able to reverse-isekai himself (return to the human world from where he was summoned).
Arifureta season 3 episode 8: Amateurish CGI again appears but gets overshadowed by the plot
Arifureta season 3 episode 8 also included some CGI animation centered around the cockroach soldiers. While calling the animation 'perfect' might be an overstatement, it was up to par at most. However, the good thing was that it went unnoticeable due to the current frenzy of events.
Given the climax of Arifureta season 3 episode 8, the next episode might reveal Hajime's ideology and reveal whether he is still not interested in returning to his human world.
