Blue Lock: Major predictions for chapter 288 spoilers

Blue Lock chapter 288 will be released on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. Hence, the manga's alleged spoilers should come out a few days before the chapter's official release. Given the one-week break before the next chapter, not all fans would want to wait that long. Hence, here we have brought a list of major predictions for chapter 288.

The previous chapter saw Ryusei Shidou team up with Rin Itoshi. While Igaguri tried to kill the attack, he only ended up fouling Shidou. As for the attack, Rin and Kaiser managed to stop it. However, with Igaguri receiving a yellow card, Noel Noa decided to sub him off, effectively putting an end to his time at Blue Lock.

What to expect from Blue Lock chapter 288?

Teppei Neru might sub in for Igarashi Gurimu

As fans must know, Igarashi Gurimu was playing as a left-back for Bastard Munchen. Thus, it only makes sense that a fullback replaces him. While there is a high chance that Yukimiya Kenyu could retain that spot from his previous matches, it is more likely that Master Striker Noel Noa could play Teppei Neru in the position.

This is because, similar to Igarashi Gurimu, Teppei Neru was yet to receive an offer due to having no match appearances. Hence, the Master Striker could choose to introduce the explosive fullback with actual defending experience over a dribbling expert like Yukimiya Kenyu. With that, Noel Noa could aim to lockdown the Paris X Gen aces Rin Itoshi and Ryusei Shidou.

Bastard Munchen might initiate another attack

As seen at the end of the previous manga chapter, after Kaiser and Isagi performed their block and tackle on Rin Itoshi, the ball ricocheted off the Paris X Gen ace'ss foot and flew over the goalpost for a goal-kick.

This means that the manga's next chapter will likely start with a goal-kick from Gagamaru Gin. With that, the manga could possibly show Isagi and Kaiser initiating another one of their synchronized attacks alongside the Bastard Munchen players.

However, unlike the last time, Rin, Shidou, Karasu, and Charles have all decided to team up together. Hence, the new challenge could prove rather difficult for the Bastard Munchen aces.

Teppei Neru could match up against Ryusei Shidou or Rin Itoshi

If the manga chapter does show Teppei Neru entering the field, there is a likely chance that the creators would want him to showcase his defensive skills from the onset. Therefore, fans can expect Paris X Gen to steal the ball away from Bastard Munchen and initiate a counterattack.

This could cultivate a match-up between Teppei Neru and Rin Itoshi or Ryusei Shidou, depending on whether the fullback is asked to play as a right-back or left-back. As revealed previously, Neru's weapon was his speed, but hopefully, the manga may show him having harbored some new skills as well.
