Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 10 preview and what to expect
On Friday, December 6, 2024, the official website of the Blue Lock anime unveiled the preview for Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 10. The anime episode, titled Switching Actors, will be released on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 12:30 am JST. The anime will be available to watch on Crunchyroll.
The previous episode revealed the past of the Itoshi siblings. With that, the anime revealed why Rin Itoshi detested his brother despite sharing a bond with him in the past. In addition, Oliver Aiku convinced Sae Itoshi to play the second half by agreeing to sub-in Ryusei Shidou.

Sendou and Shidou will link with each other in Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 10
As fans must remember, Ryusei Shidou and Sendou Shuto hated each other. Thus, it should have been presumed that Shidou would replace Sendou for the U-20 Japan national team. Instead, as evident from the preview synopsis, Shidou is set to play alongside Sendou, meaning that the team's ace could take on a supporting role.
Sendou and Shidou are seemingly set to link well with each other, something similar to Isagi and Rin's partnership in the first half. Such a linkage alongside Sae's presence should revitalize the U-20 Japan national team's attack. Thus, their attack is going to be completely different than what they were capable of in the first half.
Ikki Niko might read Sae's pass to Shidou in Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 10
As seen in the match's first half, the only Blue Lock XI defender capable of reading Sae Itoshi's out-of-the-world passes was Ikki Niko. Therefore, with Ryusei Shidou introduced in the match, the center-back could likely smell the threat posed by the striker. Thus, fans can expect to see Niko follow Shidou's movements hoping to intercept any passes from Sae Itoshi.
While Niko should be able to intercept a pass from Sae, the episode preview suggests that the U-20 Japan team will likely dominate in the next episode. Therefore, there is a likely chance that Sae and Shidou will succeed in their play and tie the match's score.
Ego Jinpachi could make some substitutions in Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 10
If the U-20 Japan national team does dominate against Blue Lock XI in the second half, there is a good chance that Ego Jinpachi will be forced to make some changes. With the wide array of players he has as part of his substitutes, he could realistically ideate any form of strategy. The question is which players will be subbed out.
Considering that the episode preview images show glimpses of Chigiri Hyouma and Ikki Niko, there is a chance that the two defenders will be subbed off. With that deduced, only time will tell which players Ego Jinpachi might choose to replace them.
