Blue Lock season 2 episode 10, titled The Subs Take to the Stage, saw Ikki Niko perfectly read Sae and Shidou's chemical reaction. However, Sendou's noise caused him to react late to the pass and commit a foul. While Shidou wanted to take the free kick, Sae asked him not to limit his imagination. This development saw Shidou combine with Sae to score the match's equalizer with a Dragon Drive Shot.

Unfortunately, the developments leading to the goal injured Niko and Chigiri. Thus, Ego Jinpachi replaced them with Reo Mikage and Hiori Yo. Both substitutes immediately impacted the match with their abilities. Hiori made some threatening passes while Reo copied Aiku to stop Shidou.

Blue Lock season 2 episode 11, titled "What You Taught Us," will likely see Blue Lock XI try to deal with Shidou and Sae's chemical reaction. Reo could hold down Shidou for some time, even though he is limited in his physical prowess. Hence, in the next episode, Shidou could score another goal and take the lead for the U-20 Japan National Team.

If the U-20 Japan National Team does take the lead, Ego Jinpachi could be forced to make another substitution. However, with the match inching toward its climax, this moment could be far more pivotal than the previous substitution scene.
