Chainsaw Man Chapter 186: Fumiko is caught in the crossfire as Pochita vs Aging Devil begins
Chainsaw Man Chapter 186 was expected to focus on Pochita and the Aging Devil’s fight beginning, and in an excessively bloody and violent fashion, no less. Officially released on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, the issue did indeed see the pair’s fight begin, but not in the way fans were expecting.
Instead, Chainsaw Man Chapter 186 saw their fight take a much slower start than anticipated, with Fumiko Mifune and other Public Safety agents getting caught in the crossfire. However, their fight is seemingly set up to begin in the manga’s next release, which is thankfully coming next Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 186 sees Pochita vs Aging Devil begin in an unexpected way
Chainsaw Man Chapter 186 begins with Pochita leaping across the top of buildings on his way to the Aging Devil’s current location. Focus then shifts to Aging, who says that Pochita will arrive in less than a minute. It also acknowledges that even if Pochita kills it, he probably won’t eat it as it wants. Aging then makes a contract with Fumiko Mifune and the other Public Safety agents present, asking for charge of their bodies in exchange for being saved from death by Pochita.
Speaking for the group, Fumiko agrees to this, prompting Aging to somehow sacrifice all of their fingernails. This leads to Pochita’s body being cut up into several large pieces, his intestines spewing out as Fumiko and the others are on the ground in pain. Aging adds that it’s an ugly method, but its only choice is to wrench Pochita’s mouth open and force feed itself to Pochita. Fumiko and the other agents then beg Aging to use them, telling it not to worry about them.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 186 sees Fumiko add that the Chainsaw Man zombies and the War Devil are wrecking Tokyo, and how this could lead to Nosferatu’s prophecy coming true. She adds that if they can evolve mankind via Chainsaw Man’s ability, then they can continue the age of humans. She adds that they’re prepared to be sacrificed, once again pushing Aging to use them to achieve its goal.
As Aging is seemingly surprised by this, a shot of Denji pulling his ripcord is seen, which puts Pochita’s body back together and brings him back to life. Denji is shown to still be eating the intestines of the tree person he cut into as he does so, clearly intent on supporting Pochita however he can. Pochita then continues making his way towards Aging, but Aging then sacrifices Fumiko’s liver to attack Pochita in the same way once again.
Yet once again, Chainsaw Man Chapter 186 sees Denji pull his ripcord to revive Pochita. Aging then sacrifices another agent’s eyes, which leads to Pochita getting decapitated. However, Pochita then begins cutting open his chest, pulling out his Pochita-shaped heart after. The issue ends with Pochita hurling his heart ahead toward the Aging Devil’s location, which it seemingly reaches just as the issue ends.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 186: In summation
While Chapter 186 may not be quite as eventful as fans had hoped, it’s nevertheless an exciting and action-packed installment which brilliantly sets up Pochita versus the Aging Devil. Likewise, it seemingly sets up the true brutal beginning to their fight next week, as Pochita’s heart hurtles towards the Aging Devil, Fumiko Mifune, and others.
