Dandadan chapter 177 recap
Dandadan chapter 177 began immediately where the last issue ended, with Kashimoto and Payase incapacitated from the hit the jiangshi landed on them. Seiko, meanwhile, immediately began fighting off the jiangshi, first doing so one at a time as they approached her. She quickly transitioned into fighting off the group at large, using unconventional tactics to eventually all but eliminate them.
However, this was when an anthropomorphic bull made of iron appeared, charging into Seiko and doing severe damage. She tried fighting back but realized this would be ineffective due to his body, which was as hard as iron. The bull claimed it would only get stronger as its body was hit or hit her, adding that the temperature of its body would also increase. It sat on and squished Seiko as it said this, seemingly knocking her unconscious.
The bull then pulled a knife exactly like the one Kouki Yukishiro had out of its underwear, confirming that it and the jiangshi were working for Count Saint-Germain after all. It asked Seiko to accept her defeat but was then interrupted by a major attack from Payase and Kishimoto. The issue ended with the pair revealing their powers, Payase’s seemingly being similar to Okarun’s former powers, and Kashimoto’s appearing to be psychic in nature like Momo Ayase’s.
What to expect from Dandadan chapter 178 (speculative)
Dandadan chapter 178 will likely open up with Seiko taking a step back to rest and recover while Payase and Kashimoto handle the bull and the jiangshi. While they were also attacked, Seiko is in a much worse condition now both for taking damage from the bull and having fought off the jiangshi by herself initially. The pair may even tell her to escape and let them handle this while she works towards restoring Momo to her actual size.
In any case, Payase and Kashimoto’s fight against the iron bull and the jiangshi should be the issue’s main focus. The two’s powers will likely be explained throughout the fight, as well as their likely familiarity with who Count Saint-Germain is. This would serve as a means of setting up the pair to mentor Momo and Okarun, who are currently being targeted by the enigmatic antagonist.
