Dandadan episode 12 preview teases a trip to Jiji's cursed house as Taro and Hana's story ends
With Jin “Jiji” Enjoji officially and fully introduced ahead of the series’ first season finale, Dandadan episode 12 will likely see Jiji’s origins begin to be inspected by Momo Ayase and co. Although spoilers are essentially non-existent for television anime series, this is somewhat offset by the offering of a preview for the next episode.
Likewise, the Dandadan episode 12 preview does suggest that Jiji’s origins will be a main focus, indicated by the appearance of a house and a large group of brand new characters. However, the preview also teases that this will be far from the episode’s only focus, with the remaining runtime seemingly being dedicated to concluding Taro and Hana’s story.
Dandadan episode 12 preview teases a large group of enemies for Momo and co to fight
The Dandadan episode 12 preview first begins with Ken “Okarun” Takakura shooting a determined look at a close-up camera, only his left eye fully visible. This transitions into a scene of Okarun and Jiji sitting together on a train, seemingly getting along. They then seemingly arrive in a dreary town, with only a few people out and about. A shot of Okarun and Momo’s dismayed expressions further suggests that they’re in a relatively rundown area.
Focus then shifts to a scene of Taro and Hana, where the former is hugging the latter from the back. He’s also covered in mud with leaves sticking out of him, suggesting some sort of problem or skirmish. A shot of the two standing in a shrine’s courtyard as what seems to be the sunrise beats down on them then appears, suggesting that they will get their happy ending before the finale’s end.
The Dandadan episode 12 preview then cuts to Momo bathing in a hot spring, where she’s seemingly shocked to be joined by what appears to be a man. However, the man’s skin color is pasty and pale, almost to the point of looking sickly. The preview then reveals episode 12’s title of “Let’s Go to the Cursed House,” seemingly confirming that they do visit Jiji’s family home before the first season ends.
The preview then shows a shot of Momo, Okarun, and Jiji seemingly sightseeing in what is presumably the town where Jiji’s family lived. A shot of someone, presumably their group, walking through the woods appears. However, it’s revealed that they’re being watched by a large group of people, all of whom have sickly skin tones similar to the man in the hot springs with Momo earlier on. The trailer ends on this menacing shot of these presumed new foes.
Clearly, the major takeaway from the Dandadan episode 12 preview is that Momo, Okarun, and Jiji do indeed make their way to Jiji’s house in the first season’s finale. Along the way, it seems that they help Taro and Hana find a new home together, as well as explore the area surrounding Jiji’s town. The ending shot and scene of Momo in the hot springs also suggest that fans will be introduced to Momo and co.’s new enemies before the series fully concludes.
Final thoughts
However, all of the above is just one interpretation of the episode 12 preview’s scenes and certainly could be proven wrong upon the installment’s official release. Fans will simply have to wait and find out what happens when the season finale airs on Friday, December 20, 2024, in Japan.
