Dandadan fans find their next crush in Queen Sensei

Dandadan is one of the few series that puts considerable effort into the character designs of background characters. Queen Sensei, the school nurse and one of the notable recurring characters within the series, made her debut in episode 10. The episode is currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix.

Although the episode mainly focused on Mr. Mantis Shrimp essentially becoming an ally of the main cast along with Jiji's introduction, Queen Sensei, who appeared in the initial parts of the episode, has managed to become one of the prominent highlights of episode 10 to the delight of her persistent fanbase.

Dandadan's most beloved background character makes her debut

Dandadan has introduced many memorable characters, including Seiko and Reiko Kashima, both of whom have become mainstays in the fandom's discussions. Although both of these characters served integral roles in the series' events, Queen Sensei shares popularity comparable to theirs despite being a rather obscure background character.

Queen Sensei appeared in chapter 25 of the manga and episode 10 of the anime, which was released on December 6, 2024. She is voiced by Chiaki Takahashi, who has previously voiced background characters in Kill La Kill as well as Cautious Hero.

Fan reaction to Queen Sensei's debut

Queen Sensei has been present in the series for a long time and was one of the first few characters ever introduced, preceding even Jiji from the main cast. Given her longstanding presence, her dedicated fanbase exploded with joy due to her enhanced anime appearance.

Many fans also took the opportunity to point out that her voice actor, Chiaki Takahashi, is a great choice, especially due to her previous roles as Omiko Hakodate from Kill la Kill and Chaos Machina from Cautious Hero, both of whom share a somewhat similar dominating theme with Queen Sensei.

"Chiaki Takahashi as Queen Sensei is hilarious. Dandadan has been so great w the casting, ngl," one fan said.

"Oh I legit forgot how early Queen-sensei shows up in Dandadan. Shame she doesn't show up a ton," another fan said.

A few fans also mentioned how they wished Yukinobu Tatsu would draw and integrate her more into the story. Other fans expressed their wish to see Queen Sensei as part of the main cast.

"Background sensei so good, I wish Tatsu drew her more," one fan wrote.

"God please make Queen sensei join the main cast," another fan wrote.

Dandadan episode 11 will be released on Friday, December 13, 2024, and will explore Jiji's character, who will inarguably be one of the more divisive characters within the series. Fans wanting to progress with the story can start reading from chapter 28 of the manga.
