Dragon Ball DAIMA's new Majin visual has fans fuming
Dragon Ball DAIMA has recently debuted the new Majin in the latest episode, Majin Kuu. While there are expectations of what he can do, his design has been met with disappointment from fans. The perception of the fandom has been that the design fails to evoke any meaningful interest and seems like a very repetitive formula to what has come before.
While elements such as Majin Buu's flesh and a Sabaiman seed do lend themselves to a more repetitive design, there is no denying that this Majin was something most Dragon Ball DAIMA viewers were expecting to see and didn't live up to the hype. This doesn't mean that the character is going to be a flop but the design has failed to impress the fanbase.

Dragon Ball DAIMA fans are not excited about Majin Kuu's design
In the most recent episode of DAIMA, Marba and Dr. Arinsu have finally created the Majin, which the latter is going to use to take over the Demon Realm, Majin Kuu. While the idea of a creature mixed with the DNA of Majin Buu and Arinsu, plus the seed of a Saibaman, is mostly well-received by the fandom and there are expectations of what he can do, his design has been heavily criticized.
There is a perception that this Majin looks bland and uninspired, especially considering that, on paper, should be on a similar level to the likes of Goku and Vegeta to be a threat. It is true that the character could have a transformation in the coming episodes, which is fairly common in the franchise, but the current design has been quite underwhelming.
Some complaints include pointing out how he has a similar look to other characters, such as Hit from Super, and taking too many things from Kid Buu and Saibaman. While the last two characters make sense as an inspiration since Majin Kuu has elements of both of them, the combinations leave much to be desired, with a color palette that fails to impress.
Reactions online
The situation involving Majin Kuu also serves as an example of the divided opinions regarding Dragon Ball DAIMA thus far. While most people who have watched the series have been quite positive about this Toei Animation production, there is a section of the fandom who prefer the more serious and action-focused era of Z rather than the comedic adventures of the early days.
DAIMA, through its story, characters, and design, does appeal to the early days of author Akira Toriyama's writing career, coupled with the experience he gained in video games such as Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger. However, designs such as Majin Kuu disappoint fans who yearn for the days of the Saiyan, Namek, and Cell sagas.
"Another Majin character? Feels like they're running out of ideas. Dragon Ball deserves better than recycled concepts," someone said.
"Ngl ,they fumbled with the design, the og Majin buu had mad aura," another person said.
"I just don’t really like the pink. It’s not mixing well with the other colors," someone else said.
An underwhelming design doesn't mean that a character cannot impress the fans and Majin Kuu could very well do that in Dragon Ball DAIMA. Furthermore, transformations are no stranger in this franchise and the narrative could be setting up that in the coming episodes.
