Inosuke is Demon Slayer's strongest end-of-series character, but with a catch

Demon Slayer has several popular and iconic characters, with Inosuke being one of the most beloved because of his recognizable design and outlandish personality. However, there is an interesting fact that most people don't know about him, and that is he becomes the strongest character at the end of the series, although that comes with a catch.

While Inosuke does become the strongest individual in the entire Demon Slayer world, that is because most of the powerful characters are dead by the end of the story. The surviving members of the cast are simply not stronger than him or have gone through major injuries that have reduced their strength.

Explaining why Inosuke is the strongest Demon Slayer character at the end of the series

The series ends with a lot of main characters dying and suffering massive injuries that have decreased their strength massively. When compared to the vast majority of the cast, Inosuke comes out of the Infinity Castle and final battle with Muzan almost unscathed, without any major damage that could hamper his power in the coming years.

Almost all the Hashira died during the final arcs, with Sanemi Shinazugawa and Giyuu Tomioka having the Mark, so they are going to die when they turn 25 years old, with the latter also missing a limb. There are retired Hashira, such as Urokodaki, Shinjuro, and Tengen Uzui, but the first two are older and past their prime and the latter is missing an arm and an eye.

Tanjiro Kamado is very powerful but has the Mark, so he is going to die when he is 25 years old, and Kanao doesn't have it but she is going to be blinded eventually and her Breathing style relies on it.

The remaining demons, Yushiro and the cat, are not truly powerhouses to compete with Inosuke, and Zenitsu suffered massive injuries in his legs during the final arc and is known for slacking in training if he is not pushed.

The importance of Inosuke's character in the series

Inosuke might be one of the most disconnected Demon Slayer characters when it comes to the main conflicts of the series. While it was revealed during the Infinity Castle arc that Doma was the one who took the life of his mother, Kotoha Hashibira, he spends the bulk of the story without having any particular motivation.

He is a direct contrast to Tanjiro, who is solely driven by the desire to avenge his family, and Zenitsu, whose cowardice is something he has to overcome every time he fights. On the other hand, Inosuke loves to adventure and face any challenge head-on, which is part of the reason he has become so popular within the fandom.

Final thoughts

Inosuke being the strongest character on planet Earth by the end of the Demon Slayer series might sound like an outlandish claim but makes sense when considering the consequences of the final arc. Moreover, it would be very fitting for his character that he finally got to be the strongest individual on the land.
