My Hero Academia fandom declares "haters truly have nothing" thanks to volume 42
My Hero Academia marked its conclusion with chapter 430, which was released on August 5, 2024. The conclusion depicted the state of the main cast after an eight-year time skip. Although most of the main cast received a rather satisfying ending according to the fans, Deku's final decision to become a teacher at U.A. High School managed to trigger an onslaught of slander from haters and fans alike.
Although there were many different reasons behind the criticisms, most of them centered around Izuku and the lack of closure regarding his journey. The final volume 42, which managed to dispel most of the criticisms, has now pushed the ending into a much more positive light than before.

My Hero Academia's final volume proved the haters wrong
My Hero Academia's volume 42 was officially released on December 4, 2024. While the new volume mainly featured panels that were enhanced versions of the original epilogue in chapter 430, a few extra pages were added to the final volume. The extra pages depicted many events, including Izuku's actual situation, dispelling the preconception that his friends had practically broken contact with him following the loss of his powers.
The new pages addressed all the issues, including Deku managing to inspire the next generation of heroes, his ranking as a pro hero, and the conclusion of his relationship with Ochaco, which inadvertently countered every critique raised by the "haters."
Fan reactions to the new epilogue
Many fans took to social media to express how the new extra pages practically resolved every issue raised against the original epilogue, leaving no excuse or drawback for the series' haters to use against the ending. A few other fans also took the opportunity to comment on how the release of the latest volume must have ruined the day for many My Hero Academia haters.
Many also expressed that the new epilogue functionally served as an exposition behind Deku's choice to become a U.A. teacher, dispelling the misconception that it was a decision made out of desperation.
"Today is a bad day for MHA haters and I love it!!!" one fan said.
"This epilogue made Deku choice to be UA teacher a preferred life by himself and it's heartwarming..." another fan wrote.
A few fans took the opportunity to mention how all the qualms about the original ending were addressed and resolved in a matter of months. Many also noted how Horikoshi must have sifted through the complaints on social networking sites like X and then decided to address every single one in the extra pages.
"Not even a 6 months since the manga ended and he beat every single allegation that was put on his name. GOAT sh*t," one fan wrote.
"Horikoshi looked on twitter and decided to prove The allegations wrong," another fan said.
The My Hero Academia manga has concluded and is currently available for reading on Shueisha's MANGA Plus platform. The anime is currently in the final few chapters of the series, and season 8 will conclude the story. The actual release date has not been announced yet, but it is expected to premiere sometime in 2025.
