My Hero Academia reveals Shinso's Hero Name in Volume 42 extra pages

My Hero Academia has recently released the final manga volume with extra pages, adding new information to the ending and the whereabouts of most of the cast. While there are some impactful moments popular among the fandom, such as the romantic union of Izuku Midoriya and Ochaco Uraraka, minor characters have also got some time in the spotlight, such as the revelation of Shinso's hero name, NightHide.

Shinso Hitoshi is a fan favorite in My Hero Academia. Despite having a very small role in the series, he is someone whose journey is considered to be a success story in the manga. It is because he has always struggled with his goal of becoming a hero due to his Quirk. To overcome that, his efforts were assisted by the impact of Izuku and the tutelage of Shota Aizawa.

My Hero Academia volume 42 has revealed Shinso's Hero name in the new pages

It is confirmed in the extra pages of volume 42 of the manga that Shinso's Hero name is NightHide. It is also depicted that NightHide works as a vigilante of sorts. While being a Pro Hero, he works on the shadows, which is something that fits his personality and his values.

This seemingly aligns with his admiration for Shota Aizawa, also known as Eraser Head, who was his mentor during his time at UA. It was Aizawa who taught him how to fight with special ropes to compensate for the lack of Quirks. This could make him physically stronger, with Shinso's design after the eight-year time skip also fitting in that regard.

Moreover, the information about Shinso's Hero name feels like a reward for a lot of readers because of his journey in the series. Shinso didn't start with the rest of Izuku's class at the beginning of the story. He went on to become a student, thanks to his tenacity and dedication, which is why fans appreciate his achievements.

Many fans of My Hero Academia are not only pleased with Shinso's Hero name being NightHide, but also with the direction his character has taken throughout the story. His introduction established how the society in the series would show prejudice to people with specific Quirks, with his former classmates thinking that he was going to turn into a villain because of his mind-control abilities.

Shinso's arc in the series is small but inspirational since he took his defeat against Izuku Midoriya in the Sports Festival to the chin and chose to train to become capable of entering the Heroes Department at UA.

His student-mentor relationship with Shota Aizawa has also been praised by fans since the latter understood the young's man position and gave him enough guidance to learn. This was further emphasized by Shinso's notorious contributions in the final war arc.

Final thoughts

Shinso's Hero name and role as a vigilante of sorts make a lot of sense when considering his character and how much he learned from Aizawa. It is a fitting decision by Kohei Horikoshi to give one of the most underrated My Hero Academia characters the treatment he deserved.
