My Hero Academia volume 42 extra pages finally proves Deku's friends never abandoned him

The contents from My Hero Academia volume 42 have already been released, even though the volume is officially set to be released on December 4, 2024. While just a glimpse of the content has been revealed, it confirmed that Izuku Midoriya did not live alone after becoming a teacher and was seen enjoying a healthy life with his Class 1-A friends.

Moreover, the extra pages also showcased him in action, as a Pro Hero, proving that he became a hero who was admired by others. The purpose of this epilogue chapter (extra pages) could be to refute all of the accusations leveled against the series' protagonist by fans following the manga's conclusion.

My Hero Academia volume 42 extra pages showcase Deku enjoying life with his friends

The final chapter of My Hero Academia (chapter 430) was released on August 5, 2024. The chapter ended Izuku Midoriya's journey in a bittersweet way, at least according to the fans.

All Might gave the protagonist a new battle suit for his efforts as he continued his journey as a hero with his friends. However, the fans weren't convinced that Izuku could fight anymore given how he spent so many years as a teacher. Moreover, fans also complained about how his friends left Deku alone as his profession was different.

However, My Hero Academia volume 42 extra pages might have proved such claims wrong as they showcased Deku enjoying life with his friends. One panel showed Class 1-A having a party and, as expected, Deku was a part of it. It was also revealed in the extra pages that Deku would be fighting a villain.

Reaction from the fans

As expected, the majority of the fans were in awe of the confirmation from My Hero Academia volume 42. While some didn't even consider the allegations true to begin with, some were just happy that Kohei Horikoshi finished the manga by doing his protagonist justice. This move also had some fans stating that this was because Deku never gave up.

However, some fans weren't happy with the extra chapters as they complained about the original ending (as showcased in chapter 430). They even said that the extra pages were a lame move from the author and he only did because felt like he did something wrong. While the epilogue is a key part of every manga, more details will arrive with the release of the volume.

"So glad it turned out this way" a fan said
"It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up." another fan said
"Finally those people can shut up about it (it was never true to begin with)" another one said
"Like bro... additional chapter after being roasted. this feels forces LMAO... the main ending should be replace by this and elaborate on this extra chapter.I know creator can change their work but that is lame." another fan claimed
