Ace of Diamond Act 2 spinoff manga confirms December 2024 release

On December 11, 2024, the latest issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine announced the Ace of Diamond Act 2 spinoff manga series, set to be released on December 25, 2024. The manga series will be titled Ace of Diamond Act 2 Gaiden: Teitou vs Ugumori.

Ace of Diamond is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuji Terijima. The manga series has two acts, the first one (May 2006) was serialized in 47 volumes (both English and Japanese), and the second one (August 2015) in 34 volumes (only in Japanese).

In the 2nd and 3rd Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine issue, the Ace of Diamond Act 2 spinoff series was announced as a short manga side story. This spin-off series is titled Ace of Diamond Act 2 Gaiden: Teitou vs Ugumori. Teito and Ugumori are the names of two high schools with high-caliber baseball players. These two high schools were the rival of the protagonist's school, Seidou High School.

The spin-off manga series might see them in a 1-on-1 match against each other (something the mainstream manga never showed). Ace of Diamond Act 2 spinoff manga series will be released in the Weekly Shonen Magazine's fourth issue, set to be released on December 25, 2024.

Ace of Diamond is a baseball-themed manga series written and illustrated by Yuuji Terijima. The manga series is the author's magnum opus and has received various spin-offs in the past. Ace of Diamond Act 2 was announced months after the climax of the original series.

In October 2013, the manga series received its first anime adaptation by animation studio Madhouse (Perfect Blue) and Production I.G (Haikyuu). The first season lasted for 75 episodes, followed by a sequel that lasted 51 episodes. The first part of the manga concluded with the sequel of the anime.

Ace of Diamond Act 2 manga was adapted starting from season 3 and Madhouse adapted it alone. The sequel lasted for 52 episodes. On May 18, 2024, the fourth season was announced which is yet to receive any update.

As of this article's publication, no official synopsis for the series has been unveiled by the Ace of Diamond Act 2 spinoff manga team. However, as indicated by its name, it is set to see two of the strongest baseball teams from Teito and Ugumori High School clash in a fierce match.

The manga series is a sports manga centered around Eijun Sawamura whose middle school concluded with a loss. After losing, he was scouted and taken to the prestigious Seidou High School to play with the best baseball players around Japan. However, with new players around, would Eijun be able to prove his worth?
