Aquarion: Myth of Emotions anime reveals January 2025 release date and more
Saturday, December 7, 2024, saw the Aquarion: Myth of Emotions anime television series officially announce its Friday, January 10, 2025, release date in Japan and more. This news came via the staff for the series, who shared the information at an advance screening event for the series at the Tachikawa Cinema City’s Cinema Two theater in Tokyo.
Alongside the release date news for the Aquarion: Myth of Emotions anime series, staff also revealed a new promotional video, three more cast members, and the opening and ending theme songs. The opening theme song is also previewed in the new promotional video and is a very special and notable track to give the series.
Aquarion: Myth of Emotions anime premieres in Japan on January 10, 2025, with a remixed opening theme
The Aquarion: Myth of Emotions anime is set to premiere on Tokyo MX in Japan on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 12:30 am Japanese Standard Time. The series will then air on TV Aichi, tvk, BS Asahi, and other Japanese television channels after this initial premiere on Tokyo MX. Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream the series internationally in North, Central, and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the CIS as it airs weekly in Japan.
The newly announced cast revealed alongside the new promotional video is Hiroki Nanami as Sun, Kiyono Yasuno as Kyoko Munakata, and Yumi Yuzu as Kazuhiko Saruta. The trio joins starring cast members Yumiri Hanamori as Sakko Otori, Azumi Waki as Momohime Amaha, Makoto Koichi as Rimiya Tsukishiro, Aki Toyosaki as Toshi Hatano, and Konomi Kohara as Sayo Ichiki.
The new promotional video, as mentioned above, also revealed the opening theme for the Aquarion: Myth of Emotions anime series. The opening theme of Sosei no Aquarion: Myth of Emotions Ver. is a remix of AKINO’s original opening theme Sousei no Aquarion from the 2005 Aquarion anime. The remix is performed by AKINO of Bless4 and Yoshiki Fukuyama. The ending theme song is Kokuhaku, or Confession, also performed by AKINO.
Shoji Kawamori is credited with the original work as a supervisor for the series and for the Aquarion design. Kenji Itoso is directing the anime series at Satelight studios, with Sadayuki Murai in charge of series composition. Masashi Kudo is designing the characters, with Takashi Ohmama and Shu Kanematsu composing the music. Yoko Kanno composed both the opening and ending theme songs for the series.
The Myth of Emotions series serves as the latest entry in the larger Aquarion franchise and is the fourth overall. The first series debuted in Japan in 2005 and was released internationally on DVD in 2008, 2009, and 2010 on three separate occasions. Two sequel anime series, titled Aquarion Evol and Aquarion Logos, debuted in 2012 and 2015, respectively. Funimation licensed and streamed both anime series and also released them on home video.
