Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League anime film reveals March 2025 premiere and more

Thursday, December 5, 2024, saw Warner Bros. Japan announce the Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League anime film’s Japanese streaming release date of Friday, March 21, 2025. Warner Bros. Japan emphasized that this date is specifically for the Japanese release, meaning international fans still have no idea when to expect the film in local theaters or on streaming platforms.

Warner Bros. Japan then confirmed the full cast list for the Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League anime film on Saturday, December 7, 2024, following the film’s world premiere screening. This premiere came at the 2024 Tokyo Comic Con, with the premiere also seeing staff and lead voice actor Koichi Yamadera in attendance to confirm all of this exciting news.

Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League anime film confirms Japanese release info, no international release date yet

As mentioned above, Warner Bros. Japan stressed in this latest batch of news that the Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League anime film’s Friday, March 21, 2025, release date is a digital one. In other words, the film seems set to go right to streaming platforms based on currently available information. The Japanese streaming platforms that will host the film have yet to be specified as of this article’s writing.

While this digital release date is only for Japan, it is encouraging for international viewers who are eager to see the film. More likely than not, the film’s localization process will be heavily expedited relative to typical Japanese theatrical releases given its straight-to-digital premiere plans. While a delay is still likely, it should be in the realm of several weeks rather than the typical several-month delays theatrical releases face for exportation.

In any case, Warner Bros. Japan also confirmed the full cast for the Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League anime film, also revealing its final member after the world premiere screening. Takaya Kamikawa is the new cast member and will join the series as the voice of “Hagaane no Kuraaku.” Kamikawa joins the previously announced and full film cast list of:

  • Kōichi Yamadera as Bruce Wayne/Batman
  • Yūki Kaji as Robin
  • Kengo Kawanishi as Red Robin
  • Daisuke Ono as Nightwing
  • Akira Ishida as Red Hood
  • Hōchū Ohtsuka as Alfred Pennyworth
  • Masaki Terasoma as James Gordon
  • Wataru Takagi as The Joker

  • Ayane Sakura as Green Lantern
  • Akio Ōtsuka as Aquaman
  • Nobuyuki Hiyama as The Flash
  • Romi Park as Wonder Woman
  • Kazuhiro Yamaji as Ra's al Ghul

Junpei Mizusaki is returning from the original Batman Ninja anime film to direct its sequel alongside Shinji Takagi. Kamikaze Douga is animating the sequel, also returning from the original project. Other returning staff members for the sequel include scriptwriter Kazuki Nakashima, character designer Takashi Okazaki, and composer Yugo Kanno.
