Cygames' original anime Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show announces 2025 premiere with PV
On Thursday, December 12, 2024, Cygames announced its original anime Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show with a teaser visual and promotional video. The announcement confirmed that the anime will be broadcast in 2025 and unveiled its cast and staff members.
The new original anime follows the story of Miko Kurono, a girl who began her dream career as a live-streamer named "Necronomico." While spending her days with her childhood friend Mayu Mayusaka and rival Kanna Kagurazaka, she's introduced to a new VR game project, which has the girls start pursuing the 'irreplaceable now.'
Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show unveils teaser visual and video
On Thursday, December 12, 2024, Cygames launched the official website and X account for the Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show anime, unveiling its 2025 premiere, teaser visual, and video.
The anime's teaser visual features the three main characters: Miko Kurono, Mayu Mayusaka, and Kanna Kagurazaka. Miko is in the center, Kanna is on the left, and Mayu is on the right. The three characters are placed against the backdrop of a pop game stage, each taking on a game challenge.
Meanwhile, the teaser video shows the three characters interacting with each other and playing different games. This effectively helped fans understand the anime's production level, giving them a preview of the voice cast members' work for the original anime.
Riho Sugiyama is set to voice Miko Kurono. Having been called strange since she was a child, the voice actress is happy to be able to voice a unique character like Miko. She has previously voiced Henrietta Penrose in 86 and Pete Reston in Reign of the Seven Spellblades.
Nana Hasumi is set to voice Kanna Kagurazaka. This will be the first time Nana Hasumi voices a main character; hence, she is excited to contribute to the series.
Lastly, Manaka Iwami will voice Mayu Mayusaka. She expressed that she was moved by the staff's dedication during the recordings. Hence, she believed that fans would enjoy watching the anime. Manaka Iwami previously voiced Akane Kurokawa in Oshi no Ko and Mirai Shishiou in Dr. Stone.
Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show also unveiled its staff members at Studio Gokumi. Masato Matsune is the director, while Makoto Uezu is responsible for the story concept and series composition. Jirou Suzuki is the Character Designer, while Evan Call is responsible for the music.
