Gorilla no Kami anime announces April 2025 premiere, cast, and staff with new visual
On Thursday, December 5, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for the Gorilla no Kami anime shared a new visual and announced the show's April 2025, i.e., Spring 2025 release window. Along with this information, the details regarding the main cast and staff are revealed.
Fully titled Gorilla no Kami Kara Kago Sareta Reijo wa Oritsu Kishidan de Kawaiigareru (The Lady Blessed by the Gorilla God is Adored by the Royal Knights), the anime is based on mangaka Mika Kamisu's adaptation of Shirohi's eponymous web novel series. Kadokawa has been serializing the manga on the ComicWalker site since August 2021.
Gorilla no Kami anime debuts in April 2025
According to the official staff on Thursday, December 5, 2024, Gorilla no Kami anime is set to premiere in April 2025. However, a narrower release date is yet to be announced. Along with the release window's announcement, the staff revealed a new teaser visual by the show's character designer, Sakae Shibuya.
The illustration features Sofia Reeler and Louis Scarrel in the front, with Gorilla God behind them. Sofia wears a curious & surprised expression on her face, while Louis appears smiling.
According to the latest information, Kanna Nakamura stars as Sofia Reeler in the Gorilla no Kami anime. Sofia is a 16-year-old girl, who happens to be an Earl's daughter. She received the blessings of the Gorilla God. Nakamura-san is joined by Takeu Otsuka, who plays Louis Scarrel, a Royal Knight member.
Besides them, the main cast includes Reiji Kawashima as Isaac Sean, a cheerful student who aspires to become a Royal Knight member. He's also one of Sofia's classmates. Takuma Nagatsuka has also joined the voice cast as Eddie Pheles, a taciturn student who dreams of becoming a member of the Royal Knights.
Additionally, information regarding the main staff has arrived. Fumitoshi Oizaki directs the Gorilla no Kami anime at Studio Kachigarasu, in collaboration with Diomedea. Hitomi Amamiya is in charge of overseeing and writing the scripts, with Sakae Shibuya joining the staff as the character designer.
Yayoi Tateishi, noted for his contribution to Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions, has joined the staff as the sound director. Seima Iwahashi, who has previously worked in Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World anime, is composing the titular show's music.
Based on Shirohi's narrative, the Gorilla no Kami anime is set in a fantasy world, where animal Gods bless human beings when they turn 16. When Sofia, the timid daughter of an earl turns 16, she gets blessed by the Gorilla God, the strongest animal God in combat.
Although Sofia wants to lead a peaceful life, others pursue her for her inherent powers. Eventually, the Royal Knights scout her, and Sofia becomes the strongest girl in the kingdom.
