Grisaia: Phantom Trigger anime announces January 2025 release date and opening theme song with new PV

On Monday, December 2, 2024, the official website and X account for the Grisaia: Phantom Trigger anime shared the uncredited version of the opening theme song to reveal the January 2, 2025, release date. Additionally, information regarding the theme song artists has arrived.

Produced by Bibury Animation Studios, Grisaia: Phantom Trigger anime serves as an adaptation of the original visual novel series developed by Frontwing. The anime was originally announced in February 2022 and was slated to premiere in 2024.

However, It was pushed back due to undisclosed reasons. The series was previously released as six-part OVAs with movie screenings and Blu-Ray.

Grisaia: Phantom Trigger anime's new PV confirms the January 2, 2025, release date

The official staff for the series streamed the uncredited opening theme video on Monday, December 2, 2024, to reveal that the Grisaia: Phantom Trigger anime will be released on January 2, 2025. The short clip features stunning visuals and the main characters who will appear in the series.

Additionally, the full broadcast information has arrived. According to the broadcast details, Grisaia: Phantom Trigger anime will premiere on January 2, 2025, on Tokyo MX and BS NTV networks at 1 am JST. From the second episode onwards, the episode will air at 12 am JST.

Besides these channels, anime enthusiasts in Japan can watch the visual novel-based anime on Sun TV on January 5, 2025, at 11:30 pm JST, and on Hokkaido TV, Shizuoka Broadcasting, and Hokkaido TV on January 8, 2025. Prior to its broadcast, the anime will hold an advance screening at the Kino Cinema Shinjuku in Tokyo, Japan, on December 17, 2024.

According to the anime's official staff, Mao Uesugi performs the anime's opening theme song, Zero Ignition. The latest clip features the song and shows the characters from the anime. On the other hand, Yoshino Nanjo sings the ending theme song, Dandelion.

Comments from the respective theme song artists have arrived on the anime's official site, where they mentioned how excited they were to perform on the songs. Both Mao Uesugi and Yoshino Nanjo have urged fans to listen to the songs.

Grisaia: Phantom Trigger anime features a returning cast from the original OVA. Maaya Uchida stars as Rena, Ayane Sakura as Toka Shishigaya, Atsumi Tanezaki as Murasaki Ikoma, Kaori Nazuka as Sakurako Christina Kujirase, Mikato Izawa as Shiori, Suzuko Mimori as Megumi Kumashito, and others.

Kosuke Murayama directs the action anime at Bibury Animation Studio, the same production studio behind the game's OVA and the sequels. Akio Watanabe has joined the staff as the character designer and chief animation director, while Hitoshi Fujima, Fuminori Matsumoto, and Yusuke Takeda are in charge of the show's composition. Frontwing and WOWMAX are producing the series.

Based on the visual novel, Grisaia: Phantom Trigger anime showcases the exploits of Toka, Murasaki, and others, who became members of SORD, a special organization at the Mihama Academy.
