Headhunted to Another World anime reveals January 2025 release date

Friday, December 6, 2024 saw the official X (formerly Twitter) account for the Headhunted to Another World anime reveal the television series’ Monday, January 6, 2025 release date. The series also confirmed its exact Japanese release time and availability, including the streaming platforms it’ll be on domestically.

The Headhunted to Another World anime also revealed an early debut on select streaming services in Japan on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 prior to its television release date. It has already been confirmed that Crunchyroll will stream the series internationally in several regions and territories, including the Indian Subcontinent and North America.

Headhunted to Another World anime receives New Year’s Day early premiere in Japan on select services

As mentioned above, the Headhunted to Another world anime’s official X account confirmed both its Japanese television release date, and early premiere on streaming services in Japan. The first episode will become available to stream on the ABEMA and d Anime Store services in Japan on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at 11:30PM Japanese Standard Time (JST). Starting on Monday, January 6, future episodes will also premiere early relative to the television airing.

Monday, January 6, 2025 is also the anime’s television premiere date in Japan. The series will air on Tokyo MX at 11:30PM JST before later airing on BS11 and AT-X. However, the television airing will be an episode behind ABEMA and d Anime Store’s listing for the series due to the early premiere and its maintained pacing. The anime will stream on other platforms in Japan, but delayed by one episode relative to the television airing.

Michio Fukuda is directing the Headhunted to Another World anime series at GEEK TOYS and CompTown with assistant director Seung-Deok Kim. Hiroko Fukuda is in charge of the series scripts, with Ayumi Nishibata designing the characters, and Takafumi Wada composing the music for the anime series. The anime’s currently announced cast includes:

The anime will adapt author Benigashira and illustrator Muramitsu’s original manga series of the same name, which began serialization in December 2019 in Overlap’s Comic Gardo magazine. The manga is still ongoing today, with nine volumes currently released in Japan and a tenth coming. Of these ten, eight have been released or are planned for release in English.

The series follows protagonist Dennosuke Uchimura, a Japanese salaryman who dies in a hit-and-run accident while working in Vietnam. He’s thankfully reincarnated and summoned to another world, but is greeted by a Demon King who offers him a job as one of his army’s Four Heavenly Kings. The series follows Uchimura as he takes the job and tries his best to succeed and survive.
