Honey Lemon Soda anime reveals January 2025 release date and more
Monday, December 2, 2024 saw the television Honey Lemon Soda anime series begin streaming a new promotional video which revealed the anime’s Thursday, January 9, 2024 release date in Japan. The television anime series has also confirmed its streaming availability in Japan, with news on international streaming availability still unavailable as of this article’s writing.
In addition to its January 2025 release date, the Honey Lemon Soda anime also revealed a new key visual for the series featuring its central six characters. The new promotional video for the series also revealed the opening and ending theme song artists and track titles in this latest batch of information.
Honey Lemon Soda anime reveals release date in what’s likely to be final promotional video for season 1
The Honey Lemon Soda anime is set to debut on Fuji TV’s Ultra programming block in Japan on Thursday, January 9, 2024 at 12:55AM Japanese Standard Time (JST). The series will also air at either similar or later times on Kansai TV, Tokai TV, Hokkaido Cultural Broadcasting, TV Nishi Nihon, BS Fuji, and Animax. The series will first debut on streaming via the Fuji on Demand platform at the same time as the TV debut, later going to U-NEXT, Anime Hodai, and others.
The promotional video primarily focuses on protagonist Uka Ishimori, but also introduces and gives significant focus to the other central characters in the series. The trailer’s scenes are primarily set in school, but also feature the main group of characters out and about with each other. The trailer ends by confirming the above release information and more on a few screens of text.
The trailer also reveals the opening and ending theme songs for the upcoming series, both of which will be performed by &TEAM. The opening theme song is titled “Magic Hour,” while the ending theme song is titled “Wonderful World.” Hiroshi Nishikiori is directing the anime at J.C. STAFF studios, with Akiko Waba in charge of series composition. Aimi Tanaka is designing the characters, with Akira Kosemura composing the music. The anime stars the following:

- Miyari Nemoto as Ayumi Endo
- Shunichi Toki as Tomoya Takamine

The Honey Lemon Soda anime will adapt mangaka Mayu Murata’s original series of the same name, which began in Shueisha’s Ribon magazine in December 2015. The series is still ongoing today and has been collected into 26 currently available compilation volumes. Yen Press publishes the manga in English and describes it:
“Middle school left Uka Ishimori with nothing but scars—to the point where she's forgotten how to laugh or cry or even say “hello.” But a chance reencounter with a boy with lemon-colored hair invigorates her, giving her hope that maybe, just maybe, life can be that much sweeter if she finally reaches out for help.”
