I'm a Behemoth anime reveals December 2024 release date and more

On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, the official website for the I’m a Behemoth anime series began streaming its second trailer, revealing its Saturday, December 28, 2024, release date. This is the advance distribution date, with the anime’s television premiere coming a week later on Saturday, January 4, 2025.

The second promotional video also revealed more cast for the series, the anime’s ending theme song, and a new key visual featuring the central cast of characters. The I’m a Behemoth anime series serves as the television anime adaptation of mangaka Nozomi Ginyoku’s original manga series. The full title of the series is I’m a Behemoth, an S-Ranked Monster, but Mistaken for a Cat, I Live as an Elf Girl’s Pet.


I’m a Behemoth anime’s Japanese premiere will come on the ABEMA streaming service

The I’m a Behemoth anime will premiere in Japan first on the ABEMA streaming service on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 11 pm Japanese Standard Time. This distribution will likewise be one week and episode ahead of the television broadcast for the rest of the season as a result. The anime will premiere on Japanese television on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 10:30 pm JST on Tokyo MX, followed by airings on Sun TV, BS11, and several other channels.

These premieres are for the “regular version” of the series, with the “Refreshing Steam” version airing on ABEMA Premium simultaneously with the regular version’s ABEMA premiere. The Refreshing Steam version will also air on Japanese television, specifically the AT–X channel, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 10:30 pm JST. The Refreshing Steam version will air on other streaming services in Japan starting on January 25, 2025.

The new cast member announced for I’m a Behemoth anime is Maaya Uchida as Alicia, also called the “Sword Saint” because of her ability to freely wield two long swords. Uchida joins starring cast members Tasuku Hatanaka as Tama, Riho Sugiyama as Tama in cat form, Hinaki Yano as Aria, Tomori Kusunoki as Vulcan, Hitomi Ueda as Stella, Nonoka Obuchi as Lily, and Yu Wakui as Feri.

Tetsuo Hirakawa is directs the anime series at Zero-G and Saber Works, with Kanichi Kato in charge of series scripts. Tomoyuki Abe is in charge of character design, with Yusukki Shirato and Oni composing the music, while Flying Dog is in charge of music production. Nonoka Obuchi will perform the opening theme song, Saijokyu no Kokoro, or Supreme Heart. The anime’s ending theme song of Rimi by Poka Poka Ion was revealed and previewed in the latest trailer.

The series began in August 2017 as Ginyo’s web novel was posted to the Shosetsuka ni Naro website, which is still ongoing today. This was then adapted into a light novel series in March 2018 with illustrations from Mitsuki Yano, which is also still ongoing. The manga adaptation, which the anime is based on, also began in March 2018 from Ginyo and illustrator Taro Shinonome and is still ongoing.
