I'm a Noble on the Brink of Ruin anime confirms January 2025 release date and additional cast with new visual
On Thursday, December 5, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for I'm a Noble on the Brink of Ruin anime unveiled a new visual and announced the show's January 7, 2025, release date. Additionally, the staff announced new cast members for the series.
Fully titled I'm a Noble on the Brink of Ruin, So I Might as Well Try Mastering Magic, the fantasy anime is based on author Nazuna Miki and illustrator Kabocha's Japanese light novel series of the same name. TO Books has been publishing light novels since February 2020, with nine tankobon volumes released thus far.

According to the official staff on Thursday, December 5, 2024, I'm a Noble on the Brink of Ruin anime will be released simultaneously on TV Tokyo, U-NEXT, and Anime Hodai platform in Japan on January 7, 2025, at 1:30 am JST (stylized as January 6, 2025).
After airing the first episode, the series will stream one week in advance on the Anime Hodai and U-NEXT Streaming service, every Monday at 2 am JST. Notably, Japanese fans can watch the series also on AT-X on January 7, 2025, at 8 pm JST, and on BS Fuji on January 10, 2025, at 12:30 am JST. Fans outside Japan can stream the series on Crunchyroll.
Prior to its TV broadcast, the series will stream a special live broadcast on December 18, 2024, at 8:30 pm JST on the official Happinet Phantom YouTube channel. The event will be graced by the show's voice actors, including Ayumu Murase, Tomokazu Sugita, Haruka Tomatsu, and Miho Okasaki.
Aside from the broadcast information, the official staff has unveiled the second key visual for the I'm a Noble on the Brink of Ruin anime. The illustration depicts the fantasy anime's main cast, including Liam, Jodi, Asuna, Guy, Reina, Chris, Radon, and others.
The latest announcement also reveals that Yume Miyamoto has joined the voice cast as Reina, a pure-hearted leader of the elves, who follows Liam. Miho Okasaki voices Chris, a tomboy-ish girl, who happens to be the werewolves' leader. Kenta Miyake stars as Guy, the polite yet powerful leader of the Gigas.
I'm a Noble on the Brink of Ruin anime stars Ayumi Murase as Liam, Haruka Tomatsu as Jodi, Tomokazu Sugita as Radon, Saori Hayami as Jodi, Takehito Koyasu as Raymond, Shizuka Ito as Scarlet, Yuya Hirose as Bruno, Rie Kugimiya as the Mysterious Girl, and Ruichi Kijima as Albrevit.
Staff and the plot for I'm a Noble on the Brink of Ruin anime
Ken'ichi Ishikura directs the series at Studio DEEN and Marvy Jack's collaboration. Tatsuya Takahashi, noted for his contribution to Reborn as a Vending Machine, is handling the scripts, while Midori Otsuka designs the characters. Arisa Okehazama is credited as the music composer.
Based on the original light novel series, the story for I'm a Noble on the Brink of Ruin anime follows a middle-aged commoner, who takes over the body of Liam, the fifth son of a noble family.
One day, while practicing magic, Liam suddenly becomes one of the leading magicians in the world. However, his love for magic turns the world upside down. The anime will explore Liam's adventures, and show how he masters the craft of magic.
