Ishura Season 2 announces January 2025 release date and theme songs

On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for Ishura Season 2 announced the January 8, 2025, release date. The sequel will exclusively stream on Disney+. Additionally, the staff announced information regarding the theme songs and their artist.

Produced by Studio Passione, Ishura Season 2 serves as the sequel to the previous installment, which released 12 episodes from January 2024 to March 2024 for one cour. The series itself is an adaptation of author Keiso and illustrator Kureta's eponymous dark fantasy light novel series.

Ishura Season 2 premieres on January 8, 2025

The official staff confirmed on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, that Ishura Season 2 will be released on January 8, 2025. However, the staff didn't disclose the complete broadcast information. The anime's first installment aired its episodes on 22 networks, including Tokyo MX, BS Nippon, and KBS Kyoto channels in Japan.

According to the latest information, Ishura Season 2 will exclusively stream on Disney+ "Star." The first season was digitally distributed on Disney+ worldwide and exclusively on Hulu in the USA.

Besides the release date's confirmation, the official staff has announced the theme song artists. According to the staff, Japanese singer Mayu Maeshima sings the opening theme, True Peak, while Sajo no Hana J-Rock band will perform the ending theme The IOLITE.

Notably, R.O.N., with whom Maeshima has collaborated many times, composed the opening theme and wrote the lyrics. On the other hand, Sajo no Hana's vocalist, Sana, has written the lyrics for the ending theme song.

Comments from the respective artists have arrived on the anime's official site and X account. Maeshima reveals she has sung the song, thinking she belongs to the world of Ishura, where the strongest gather. She adds the opening theme song symbolizes the series' strength and grandeur.

Likewise, Sajo no Hana's Sana says the ending theme song expresses the hope that one must continue to live on even after losing everything and succumbing to despair. Both theme song artists have urged fans to look forward to Ishura Season 2.

The sequel stars Mariya Ise as Kuro the Cautious, Megumi Ogata as Hiroto the Paradox, Wataru Takagi as Zigita, Kappei Yamaguchi as Krafnir, Miku Ito as Cuneigh, Daisuke Ono as Toroa, Nao Toyama as Linaris, Kujira as Kiyazuna, Kensho Ono as Rosclay, Hikaru Midorikawa as Psianop, Hochu Otsuka as Romzo, Tetsu Inada as Uhak, Yasuhiro Mamiya as Yukiharu, Yurika Kubo as Tu, Hiroaki Hirata as Ozonezma, Atsushi Ono as Neft, and others.

Yuki Ogawa directs the sequel at Studio Passione, with Takeo Takahashi as the chief director. Kenta Ihara is credited as the script supervisor and writer, while Nami Niinuma is in charge of the editing. SANZIGEN studio handles the CG animation of the dark fantasy anime.

Considering the previous installment ended the adaptation, covering the first volume from the original light novel series, Ishura Season 2 will pick up the adaptation from Volume 2 and cover events from Ishura II: Particle Storm in the Realm of Slaughter.
