Konosuba season 3 OVA announces March 2025 release date with PV
Konosuba season 3 OVA (original video animation) is scheduled to be released in Japan on March 14, 2025. This will be the theatrical release, and following that, the Blu-Ray discs and DVD will enter the retail stores on April 25, 2025. The announcement was made through a teaser trailer released on December 12, 2024.
Konosuba season 3, which debuted in April 2024, featured the journey of Kazuma and his crew through 11 episodes. The show ended on a bright note as Kazuma saved Darkness from getting married to Lord Alderp. He compensated for the damages by liquidating his assets.
Konosuba season 3 OVA to debut on March 14 next year
The teaser trailer for the upcoming OVA featured snippets from the unreleased episodes and a new antagonist. Their village enters a state of emergency, and the adventurers are summoned to neutralize the threat. The monsters took the form of a tornado, causing plenty of destruction to the property.
Since Darkness is in the OVA, the events take place at a time before Kazuma saves Darkness from getting married to Lord Alderp. The trio are seen working together to stop the threat from causing more problems. Kazuma’s wit, Darkness’ lewd tendencies, and Megumin’s pyromania will be on display once again. Meanwhile, Aqua might get in their way in an attempt to help them. Fans are excited to see their dynamics on screen once again.
It is important to note that the upcoming OVA is titled Konosuba Season 3 OVA - Bonus Stage. Theaters in Japan tasked with screening the OVA will offer the Blu-Ray discs and DVDs one month before the retailers can access the discs. That said, the home release version of the OVA will include bonus written material penned by author Natsume Akatsuki.
This particular installation of the anime will contain two episodes that weren’t aired during the third season. These two episodes will explore a short story arc where the rag-tag crew takes on the new “villain of the week.” The OVA will most likely feature an episodic structure. The previous two OVAs were called Red Stream Expolosion and Nisemono Chui, which translates to “beware of counterfeits.”
Fans were nervous about season 3 because the title underwent a shift in animation studios. Studio DEEN animated the first two seasons, while J.C. Staff animated the third. However, it’s safe to say that the third season was successful, and fans’ anticipation for the OVA is proof enough.
