Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms anime confirms January 2025 release date, theme songs, and more with new PV

On Saturday, December 7, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms anime shared a new promotional video and confirmed the show's January 7, 2025, release date. Additionally, the staff announced a new cast and revealed the theme songs and their artists.

Produced by SynergySP, Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms anime is based on author Ran Kuze's rom-com manga of the same name. Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine has been serializing the manga since May 2021, with 16 tankobon volumes released thus far.

According to the promotional video shared by the official staff on Saturday, December 7, 2024, Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms anime will be released on January 7, 2025.

The series will air its episodes every Tuesday from January 7, 2025, on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Hokkaido, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, at 12 am JST (stylized as Monday, January 6, 2025, 24 am JST).

Additionally, the rom-com anime will be available on U-NEXT, d Anime Store, and DMM TV in Japan, starting January 7, 2025, at 12:30 am JST.

The latest trailer for Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms anime shows Mona Kawai trying every trick to win over Medaka. However, her "charms" don't seem to work on the boy. Besides them, the PV features Mona's friends, including Asahi, Tomo, Tsubomi, and Minami.

Additionally, the PV reveals and previews the show's opening theme, Ame Tokimeki Koimoyo, performed by the Hololive subunit, AyaFubuMi, and the ending theme, Kyun Api by Kaori Maeda. Comments from the respective artists have arrived on the anime's X account, where they mentioned how excited they are to contribute to the series.

Besides the PV, the official staff has unveiled a new key visual for Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms anime. The illustration features the main duo, Mona and Medaka, with Mona's four friends, Tomo, Asahi, Tsubomi, and Minami, in the background.

Mona is seen adorably smiling while making a peace sign. On the contrary, Medaka appears discontent. Tsubomi looks thrilled, while Tomo and Asahi give cute expressions. Undoubtedly, the visual depicts each character's personality.

Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms anime features a fabulous cast, with Yu Serizawa as Mona Kawai, Ryota Iwasaki as Medaka Kuroiwa, Sora Amamiya as Asahi Shounan, Hinaki Yano as Tomo Nanba, Kaori Maeda as Minami Shirahama, and Kana Hanazawa as Tsubomi Haruno.

Yoshiaki Okumura directs the anime at SynergySP, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handling the script writing and supervision. Mayumi Watanabe is the character designer, while Akiyuki Tateyama is the music composer. Noriyoshi Konuma is credited as the sound director, while Aiko Yamagami is the color designer. Masakazu Miyake has joined the staff as the art director.

The anime centers around Mona Kawai, regarded as the cutest girl in her school. Even though everyone is bewitched by her charms, Mona can't fathom why Medaka Kuroiwa, one of her classmates, acts stone-cold toward her. While she fails to move Medaka's heart, Mona doesn't give up. As such, the anime will showcase a unique battle of will between Medaka and Mona.
