TO Books' tweet from their official X account (@TOBOOKS), stated that the new Ascendance of a Bookworm anime will feature the light novel's third part (titled The Lord's Adoptive Daughter). The tweet also revealed the sequel's release window, in 2026, and the animation studio, Wit Studio (Kabanari of the Iron Fortress).

Before this new Ascendance of a Bookworm anime, the animation series received three sequels with the first one released in September 2019. This was followed by a second one released in April 2020 and a third one in April 2022. All of these seasons were animated by the animation studio Ajia-do (A Sign of Affection).

The series has had a consistent voice casting since its first season. The main ones include Myne voiced by Yuka Iguchi (Crusch from Re: Zero), Lutz by Mutsumi Tamura (John from A Vampire Dies in No Time), and Ferdinand by Show Hayami (Aizen Sousuke from Bleach).

Meanwhile, the staff members of the franchise have changed through its sequel. Some recurring ones include Hikaru Honda (assistant producer of Citrus) as the producer, Mitsuru Hongou (director of World Trigger) as the director, Toshihisa Kaiya (key animator of Naruto) as the character designer, and Michiru (music composer of Tomodachi Game) as the music composer.

After the events of the prequel where Myne, the female protagonist, said goodbye to her previous life and changed her name to Rozemyne (becoming the daughter of Ehrenfest's archduke), the New Ascendance of a Bookworm anime would follow the protagonist's hardships as she learns to become life among nobles.

This might be hard for her given her disease doesn't allow her to do much hard work. However, with the key to the temple's bookroom at stake (that has books of all kinds), the bookworm protagonist would not falter until she received the immense library of literature.
