Okinawa de Suki ni Natta anime reveals January 2025 release date and more

Friday, December 6, 2024 saw the television Okinawa de Suki ni Natta anime series begin streaming its third promotional video, revealing its Sunday, January 5, 2024 Japanese release date. Also revealed was a new key visual for the series, with the promotional video also previewing the opening theme song of “Dai Dai Daisuki,” or “I Really Really Love You.” The song will be performed by four-piece band HY from the city of Uruma in Okinawa.

The roughly 90-second promotional video focuses primarily on the series’ central group of characters, especially main trio Teruaki Nakamura, Hina Kyan, and Kana Higa. Crunchyroll has already confirmed that it will stream the Winter 2025 romantic comedy series internationally in several regions.

As mentioned above, the latest Okinawa de Suki ni Natta anime promotional video primarily focuses on its central trio. Protagonist Teruaki Nakamura is seen relying on Kana Higa to translate Hina Kyan’s Okinawan dialect, so he can pursue his romantic love for her despite the language barrier. The trailer opens with shots of this, before seeing Teruaki and Kana alone, the latter blushing at something the former says.

Kana then speaks over scenes that appear of the pair briefly, before Hina reappears and her dialogue takes over narration duties. As this happens, scenes of the trio and their social interactions are seen, segueing into a final shot of Teruaki seemingly making a tough decision. This is followed by a scene of a beach, presumably in Okinawa, with text on-screen explaining the release date information.

The Okinawa de Suki ni Natta anime will air on Sunday, January 5, 2024 at 1AM Japanese Standard Time on Tokyo MX, BS11, and three Okinawan television channels: Okinawa TV, Ryukyu Broadcasting, and Ryukyu Asahi broadcasting. Crunchyroll will stream the anime series weekly as it airs in Japan. The series will be streamed in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, India, CIS, and Southeast Asia.
