Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time anime announces January 2025 release date and additional cast with new PV

On Friday, December 6, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time anime shared a new promotional video. According to the short clip, the anime will premiere on January 8, 2025, after its early release on ABEMA and d Anime Store on January 1, 2025.

Produced by Studio Comet, Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time anime is based on Kogitsunemaru's Isekai light novel series. The light novel has been serialized on AlphaPolis since 2018, with 16 volumes released thus far. The series also has a manga adaptation with Taro Sasakama's art.

Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time anime's new trailer confirms the release date and new cast

The official staff streamed the second trailer for Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time anime's January 8, 2025, premiere date. According to the full broadcast information, the fantasy anime will air its episodes every Wednesday from 10 p.m. JST, starting January 8, 2025, on Tokyo MX.

Besides Tokyo MX, Japanese fans can catch the anime on BS11 every Wednesday from 12 a.m. JST, starting January 9, 2025. The series will be released on AT-X on January 14, 2025, at 9 p.m. JST. Prior to its TV broadcast, Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time anime will be streamed a week earlier on ABEMA and d Anime Store on January 1, 2025.

The latest promotional video begins with an exchange between the Goddess Norn and the main character, Iruma Takumi. Norn apologizes to Iruma for mistakenly summoning him to the other world. However, as compensation, she offers him to choose any skill he wants to acquire. The short clip shows Takumi's adventures and his bonds with other characters.

Two new cast members are announced. Nobuo Tobita has joined the voice cast as Papek, a wealthy merchant in the town of Bolton, who falls in love with Takumi's extraordinary talent. The other cast member is Kikuko Inoue, voicing Mulan. She's described as a woman who runs a trading company in Bolton.

Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time anime stars Shougo Sakata as Takumi Iruma, Ai Kayano as Sofia Sylphide, Nao Toyama as Maria, Sora Amamiya as Goddess Norn, Afumi Hashi as Kaede, Nene Hieda as Revya and Moeka Koizumi as Mani.

Staff and the plot for Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time anime

Naoyuki Kuzuya directs the fantasy series at Studio Comet, with Mitsutaka Hirota handling the scripts. Sayaka Anesaki is in charge of the character designs, while Hiroshi Nakamura composes the show's music. Hieda from the DIALOGUE+ musical group performs the opening theme, TREASURE!, while Koizumi from Harmoe sings the ending theme, Twinkle Days.

Based on Kogitsunemaru's light novels, Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time anime follows the story of Takumi Iruma, who despite not being a hero is summoned to another world by Goddess Norn. The Goddess realizes her mistake and offers Takumi the right to choose a unique skill.

Hoping for a peaceful life in another world, Taku chooses a seemingly boring skill called Creation. However, the skill turns out Alchemy, the most powerful skill which allows him to create anything, from a flying ship to a legendary sword. As such, the anime will explore Takumi's adventures.
