Jump Festa 2025 Red Stage reveals several details of Rurouni Kenshin season 2
As mentioned earlier, Jump Festa 2025 featured the Rurouni Kenshin season 2 panel and had the likes of Soma Saito (Kenshin Himura), Yuichi Nakamura (Hiko Seijūrō), Taku Yashiro (Sanosuke Sagara), and Makoto Furukawa (Makoto Shishio) involved. The first half of the conversation was centered around the events of the first cour of this season, which is well underway, and some visuals of the most recent episode.
When it comes to new content, there was the release of a promotional image of the second cour, featuring Kenshin and his friends up front and center, and another one that has Makoto Shishio and his ten elite swordsmen, the Juppon-Gatana. Speaking of this group, this panel also confirmed the voice actors of these characters, including those who have already been featured in the series, such as Seta Sojiro, who is voiced by Daiki Yamashita.
There was also the release of a trailer, which focused mainly on Shishio and the Juppon-Gatana, and the conflict Kenshin Himura is currently undergoing as he trains with his master, Hiko Seijuro. The trailer also gave some considerable focus to Aoshi Shinomori, who is bound to have a major role in this upcoming arc.
What to expect from this second season
The main focus of the second cour of Rurouni Kenshin season 2 is going to be on Kenshin Himura trying to recover his strength as a swordsman while not harkening back to his assassin days, which is in full display in the trailer as he engages in combat with Seijuro. This is something that is also reflected in Aoshi Shinomori, whose loyalty at the moment is quite dubious in the series.
Moreover, the Kyoto Disturbance arc is going to have Kenshin, Sanosuke Sagara, Hajime Saito, and the aforementioned Aoshi teaming up to face Shishio and his Juppon-Gatana in his Kyoto fortress. It is a series of extreme battles that have turned this arc into the most celebrated of the entire franchise.
