The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei anime confirms April 2025 premiere and main cast with PV and visual
On Thursday, December 12, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei anime shared the first promotional video to confirm that the series will premiere in April 2025. Additionally, the staff unveiled a new key visual and the main cast for the historical mystery anime.
The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei anime serves as an adaptation of Aki Shimizu's manga series of the same name. The original manga is a spin-off and a prequel to author Natsuhiko Kyogoku's Hyakki Yano novel series. Kodansha's Shonen Magazine Edge used to serialize the manga before it was moved to Kodansha's Comic Days site.
The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei anime's trailer confirms the April 2025 release window
According to the first promotional video shared by the official staff on Thursday, December 12, 2024, The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei anime will be released in April 2025, i.e., in Spring 2025. An exact release date will be revealed in the future.
Notably, the teaser trailer for The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei anime highlights the main heroine, Kanna Kusakabe, and her teacher, Akihiko Chuzenji. The short clip gives fans a glimpse of the supernatural occurrences from the anime.
According to the video, Kaori Maeda has joined the voice cast as Kanna Kusakabe. Kaori-san has previously voiced Ririsa Amano in 2.5 Dimensional Seduction, Nice Nature from Uma Musume: Pretty Derby, and others.
The other cast member is Katsuyuki Konishi as Akihiko Chuzenji. Katsuyuki-san is noted for his performance as Shuhei Hisagi in Bleach. The latest PV previews their character voices. Additionally, comments from the two voice actors have arrived on the anime's site, where they urged fans to look forward to the series.
Aside from the teaser PV, the official staff has unveiled a new visual for The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei anime. The illustration depicts Kanna Kusakabe and Chuzenji-sensei standing back-to-back in front of a used bookstore from the Showa era.

Chihiro Kumano, who has previously directed an episode in Moriarty the Patriot anime, directs the historical mystery anime at 100Studio, with Atsushi Oka handling the script supervision and writing.
Masahiko Suzuki is credited as the character designer, while Keiichi Hirokawa and Ryuichi Takada from MONACA are the music composers. Toshiki Kameyama is listed as the sound director.
Based on Aki Shimizu's manga, the anime will follow Kanna Kusakab, a female student who encounters various strange occurrences in her school along with language teacher, Akihiko Chuzenji. Set in 1948's Tokyo, the anime will showcase a fascinating blend of history, supernatural, and mystery.
