Witch Watch anime announces April 2025 release, consecutive cours, and additional cast with new PV
On Saturday, December 21, 2024, a new promotional video for the Witch Watch anime was revealed at the Special Stage Blue at Jump Festa 2025. According to the video, the series is set to premiere in April 2025 and run for two consecutive cours. Along with this information, the presenters on the stage announced four new cast members for the series.
Produced by Bibury Animation Studios, Witch Watch anime is an adaptation of Kenta Shinohara's eponymous rom-com fantasy manga series. Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump has been serializing the manga since February 2021, with 19 volumes published as of this writing.
Witch Watch anime's new trailer at Jump Festa 2025 confirms April 2025 premiere with consecutive cours
Jump Festa 2025 arranged a special Blue Stage for the series on December 21, 2024, where the voice actors for Nico Wakatsuki (Rina Kawaguchi) and Morihito Otogi (Ryota Suzuki), along with the supervisor, Kohei Amasaki, unveiled a new promotional video.
According to the short clip, Witch Watch anime will air its episodes every Sunday from 5 pm JST on 28 MBS and TBS-affiliated channels starting April 2025. The series will air for consecutive cours. More information about the show's broadcast and release date will be revealed later.
The latest trailer features Nico Wakatsuki and Morihito's daily lives as they start living together. Nico, who is training to be a witch, demonstrates her magic at school and other places. However, her powers lead to unpredictable outcomes.
Additionally, the short video reveals more cast members for the series. Mikako Komatsu joins the Witch Watch anime as Yuri Makuwa, while Konomi Kohara stars as Kukumi Ureshino. Rie Takahashi voices Kara Minami, while Yoshitsugu Matsuoka plays the role of Tenryu Kiyomiya.
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Mikako Komatus briefly appeared at the show's Jump Festa 2025 Blue Stage and revealed their thoughts regarding the anime. The anime's official site has shared comments from the new voice actors, who mentioned how delighted they are to join the series.
The previously announced cast members are, Rina Kawaguchi as Nico Wakatsuki, Ryota Suzuki as Morihito Otogi, Kohei Amasaki as Kanshi Kazamatsuri, Tomori Kusonoki as Nemu Miyao, and Kaito Ishikawa as Magami Keigo.
Hiroshi Ikehata directs Witch Watch anime at Bibury Animation Studios with Masao Kawase as the assistant director. Deko Akao handles the series scripts, while Haruko Iizuka is credited as the character designer. Yoshiaki Sugimura and Sawa Tomoki are the sub-character designers. Yukari Hashimoto composes the music for the anime.
About the anime
Based on Kenta Shinohara's manga, Witch Watch anime follows the story of Morihito Otogi, a boy with an Ogre's strength, who begins to live with his childhood friend, Nico Wakatsuki.
Interestingly, Nico is training to become a witch. However, her magic leads to unforeseeable situations. As such, the series will explore Morihito and Nico's fantastical antics as the two teens live under the same roof.
