Official One Piece art has fans "searching for Zoro"

One Piece chapter 1134 is set to see a color art release, alongside the chapter release. Fortunately, the official color art has already been released and showcased the Straw Hat Pirates in their glory. The art was before the Straw Hat Pirates entered Egghead Island and had some funny easter eggs, the spotlight of which was the 'seemingly' absence of Zoro.

Looking at the art style, the fans speculated that the swordsman was lost while exploring. Moreover, the presence of a barrel also had the fandom thinking that Caribou could be expecting a major role in the upcoming chapters. Combined with some other easter eggs, the fans appreciated the greatness of this color art.

One Piece: What is the latest official art released by the author

The latest color illustration, released alongside One Piece chapter 1134, featured the Straw Hat Pirates on their ship, the Thousand Sunny. The attire of the pirate crew hinted that the illustration was from before the time Luffy and his crewmates reached Egghead Island. The illustration featured Luffy catching fish with his fishing rod as his crewmates watched him.

The illustrations had some easter eggs the most prominent one was the apparent absence of Zoro, who was sitting in the corner (due to which he wasn't visible at first glance). Roronoa Zoro is the first crewmate Luffy recruited for his crew and the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates. While the Straw Hat Pirate is known for his Three-Sword Style in combat, his ability to get lost is also quite a delight.

The swordsman has displayed this on various occasions like how he kept getting lost on a straight pathway during the Dressrosa arc and Wano arc. His insignificant appearance in the latest color illustration might hint at some shocking development in the future as the Straw Hat Pirates continue their journey on the Elbaph Island arc.

Reactions from the fans

As expected, the fans noticed the absence of the swordsman at first glance, given how they expected him to be in the spotlight like Luffy, Sanji, and Nami. One fan even referred to the swordsman as Mosshead (a nickname Sanji gave Zoro). Another big detail was the presence of a barrel, with Caribou inside it, which had the fandom giving the character the title of the next Straw Hat Pirate.

Funnily enough, some fans took Zoro's 'small' appearance to declare Sanji the second biggest character in the Straw Hat Pirates (given how Luffy is the first and Zoro is usually considered the second). Lastly, a fan questioned the attire choice as it was from the past, even though fans were expecting an illustration of the Straw Hat Pirates with Viking outfits.

Final thoughts

The latest illustration might not be the color spread for this week's release given how it is set to feature the Straw Hat Pirates holding a gun on top of Robot Franky (as revealed by different sources). However, this illustration does beg the question of why the author would draw the characters in old outfits. Could it be a hint at future developments or something else?
