One Piece chapter 1138 spoilers: Shamrock and Shanks' relationship revealed as the Void Century's lore is expanded

One Piece chapter 1138 spoilers were expected to focus primarily on Figarland Shamrock, alluding to his relationship with Shanks and what his and the World Government’s goals are. Leaked earlier this week via reputable sources, the spoilers for the issue went above and beyond fans’ expectations, outright confirming Shanks and Shamrock as brothers.

However, the One Piece chapter 1138 spoilers also took some unexpected turns, such as teasing the return of a Roger Pirate in the form of Elbaph’s mystery silhouette character. The spoilers also claim the issue ends with a focus on what appears to be both the lore of the Void Century, and expansion on the period of time prior to the Void Century.

One Piece chapter 1138 spoilers include significant lore and worldbuilding implications

One Piece chapter 1138 spoilers begin with the issue’s title of “Harley” before going into the issue’s cover story, which continues Yamato’s pilgrimage across Wano. Yamato and their allies find Who’s Who in his base, wearing a Wano-style outfit with his mask on and drinking with subordinates and geishas. The spoilers then begin discussing the issue’s story content, claiming it opens immediately where the previous installment ended.

Loki is revealed to actually still be conscious, asking Shamrock if he’s related to Shanks somehow after seeing his face. Shamrock confirms that Shanks is his younger twin brother, who returned to Mariejois once but has preferred to live in the “filthy lower world.” It’s worth adding that there’s no flashback here to show the context of Shanks’ return to Mariejois, which suggests that he may actually be the one who met with the Gorosei after all.

One Piece chapter 1138 spoilers see Loki comment how amusing it is that he now has grudges with both of them, swearing revenge for his animal friends. Shamrock, in response, commands “Cerberus” to attack him. As he says this, he pulls out his sword, which spawns a three headed huge dog called Cerberus. While this isn’t confirmed to be a Devil Fruit power in the issue, it more likely than not is an example of a weapon being “fed” a Devil Fruit, like Funkfreed.

Cerberus is described as looking very threatening, with black clouds floating around its neck (further supporting the Devil Fruit theory) and a sword protruding from each of its three mouths. Gunko creates a “bird” with her Arrow-Arrow Fruit powers as Shamrock orders Cerberus’ three heads to break off from their body, which Shamrock turns back into his sword. He then jumps on the “bird” with Gunko and flies away, telling Loki they’ll have a proper fight if he survives this.

One Piece chapter 1138 spoilers see Loki panic at the attack as the three Cerberus heads fly towards him at full speed, piercing his chest as he curses the Celestial Dragons. Focus then shifts to Shamrock and Gunko, with the former saying they’ll start with Elbaph’s children first, and also call in one other “person.” However, this more likely than not will end up being another Holy Knight.

Focus then shifts to Aurust Castle, where Luffy and his group are talking to the Giant guards Luffy found in the last issue. Luffy is likewise angry because the Giants assert that Shanks attacked them, eventually saying it had to have been Shanks’ brother or doppelganger if not him. Luffy muses on Shanks’ family, saying he’s never heard about them, and likewise always thought that the Roger Pirates were his family (except for Buggy the Clown).

As he says this, One Piece chapter 1138 spoilers shift focus to Elbaph’s mystery silhouette character, who is seen from behind here and confirmed as the person drinking with Crocus in chapter 631’s cover. The character is walking towards Aurust Castle, and is seen approaching the entrance as focus shifts to Franky. He’s seen examining Treasure Tree Adam with Ripley, with the two looking at a huge mural painting on the tree (which isn’t visible here).

Ripley then explains that the mural is children’s drawings from long ago now fossilized and a part of the tree’s bark. She adds that the mural has remarkable historical significance as a cultural heritage, and reveals they’re estimated to have been drawn during the Void Century. Franky says they have to show Robin this while adding that the people in the mural don’t look like Giants, as a mermaid princess, robot like Emeth, and more are seen in the mural.

One Piece chapter 1138 spoilers see Ripley agree with this, adding that she knows of wars between different races, but not any unions. She argues that this further confirms that the mural is nothing more than children’s drawings. Focus then shifts yet again to the Walrus School, where Saul is explaining how the Sun God and his rhythm appear in many different legends around the world. He adds that the Harley has three chapters, each representing “one world.”

Saul adds that the third chapter is said to be their current world, with the end of the chapter foretelling events yet to pass. Robin begins reading it, leading a shift to an epic double spread in the chapters final pages. The full mural is shown, with Treasure Tree Adam in the middle dividing the picture into two parts. Above the tree, what seems to be a winged monster or demon spitting fire from its mouth can be seen.

One Piece chapter 1138 spoilers claim the right side of the mural shows a great city attacked by a massive serpent, as well as an ark with a king, angels, and animals. A moon and some people making offerings which look like stars can also be seen on the right side. Spoilers call this specific part of the mural similar to the paintings Enel found on the moon in his cover story. The left side is said to have a big battle, with either Nika or Joy Boy present and fighting.

He’s specifically fighting a huge winged demon with the sun in its hands, and is seen fighting alongside others. This includes Giants (one of which has horns), samurai, Lunarians, Minks, a mermaid princess accompanied by sea creatures, angels, a robot similar to Emeth, and several ships with humans. One of these ships is said to seem to be from Alabasta. The issue ends on this shot, also revealing the Harley texts which can be found in the embedded tweet above.
