One Piece fans call latest Sanji cosplay "way better than Taz Skylar"

Taz Skylar might be the dream casting for Sanji in the One Piece live-action series. Not only does the actor signify every emotion related to the anime series' character perfectly, but Taz also went through an entire transformation following the announcement that he landed the role of Vinsmoke Sanji. However, fans might have chosen a cosplayer over him, featuring a gender-bender cosplay.

A Reddit user (@MissFaves) posted a cosplay picture of gender-bender Sanji which was as amazing as can be imagined. Moreover, every detail regarding the character was also spot-on, leading to fans declaring it superior to the live-action casting. However, the conversation soon shifted to how the idea of a gender-bender Sanji would work.

One Piece: What is the latest gender-bender Sanji cosplay?

The gender-bender cosplay done by the Reddit user featured Vinsmoke Sanji, the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates. The cosplayer kept every detail in check, including Sanji's trademark coat and cigarette (which was most probably a prop). Moreover, the cosplayer also made sure to stick to the details as she hid one of her eyes with a wig, delivering a perfect cosplay any One Piece fan could imagine.

Vinsmoke Sanji is one of the fan-favorite characters from the Straw Hat Pirates, given his powers and behavior around others. The character's culinary abilities are well-known amongst his crew, but he is more known for fighting with his legs (as cooks don't taint their hands with blood). However, there is another characteristic related to him that is well-known.

The anime character has never raised his hand against a female, something that became obvious during his fight against Kalifa in the Enies Lobby arc. Fortunately, Nami stepped in on time and saved him. Moreover, during the Wano arc, when Black Maria cornered Sanji, he instantly called for Robin's help.

As expected, his female crewmates didn't see him as a weak person due to this because they were aware of how Sanji respects women.

Soon enough, the cosplay became the topic of discussion alongside how it looked better than the live-action version of Sanji, played by Taz Skylar (a British-Spanish actor).

As expected, the fans were in awe after witnessing one of their favorite One Piece characters with a gender-bender twist. So much so that a fan even declared her to be better than the current live-action Sanji, Taz Skyler.

Moreover, another one complimented the cosplayer by her name, hinting that she has been consistent in her cosplays. Funnily enough, one fan blamed Ivankov for this gender-bender twist given how her devil fruit powers (Horm-Horm fruit) could shift genders.

The cosplayer also gave her opinion in the comments, saying that the female Sanji might be useless in battle given how she wouldn't hurt females or males (with the latter added from the gender-bender twist). However, a fan noticed the fierce and bold look of the female Sanji, which led to them stating that she would hurt anyone who tried to disrespect her.

"Miss Faves you just never seem to miss lol insane cosplay" a fan said
"Ivankov nooooo!!!" another fan said
"Fem sanji probably useless because she wouldnt hit women or men" the cosplayer said
"She definitely has a fierce side—she'd hit anyone who disrespects her" another fan claimed

The cosplayer has a history of doing gender-bender cosplayers (most centered around Toei Animation's series). These twists show the fandom their favorite characters from different perspectives and urge them to engage in conversation about the series.
