One Piece's Enel may be the key to connecting Elbaph and Skypiea

With the Elbaph arc of One Piece continuing its serialization, fans are expecting the return of a lot of old friends and enemies with the spotlight being around the self-proclaimed god of Skypiea. While Enel's return still looks a bit too far-fetched, his alliance with Loki might have already been teased given how both planned on destroying their worlds at the same time.

Six years ago, Enel arrived on Skypiea after destroying Birka, and Loki was imprisoned after he tried to destroy Elbaph Island. This might also tease a relationship between Elbaph and Shanks, given that Shanks was declared an Emperor of the Sea at the same time Loki tried to destroy his homeland (hinting that Shanks might have stopped Loki from his actions).

One Piece: Exploring Enel as the key to the link between Elbaph and Skypiea

One Piece chapter 1132 saw the reunion of the Straw Hat Pirates but also revealed different parts of Elbaph Island. While the giants resided in the middle level, the Sun Realm, Loki was chained in the bottom, the Dead Realm. So, that leaves the top level, the Heaven Realm, about which nothing specific was revealed, shrouding it in mystery.

However, given how it is present on the top of the Adam Tree, it might be related to a sky island. Moreover, as there was no activity reported from this realm, it might be the remains of a destroyed island that fans might remember from the Skypiea arc.

Enel, later known as the self-proclaimed god of Skypiea, was born and raised in Birka. Although the island wasn't revealed, it was unveiled that Enel destroyed his homeland after he obtained his devil fruit (The Rumble-Rumble devil fruit). Given how Elbaph's Heaven Realm and Birka were present on the same level, Birka might be what the giants considered the top of the Adam Tree.

However, why would such a random island reach Elbaph Island? Surprisingly, history answers the question. Enel destroyed Birka eight years ago and two years after this, six years before the current timeline, he took over Skypiea island and became its god. Similarly, Loki tried attacking the Sun Realm of Elbaph with the power of his stolen 'Nika' fruit years ago.

However, he might have been stopped by Shanks and for this purpose, the Red-Hair Pirate received the status of an Emperor (as this also took place six years before the current timeline).

While this does tease a secret relationship Shanks had with the giants, it also all but confirms that Enel and Loki were allied in destroying their homelands but the latter was stopped in time.

Analysis and final thoughts

Birka was present in the start whereas Elbaph is situated near the end of the Grand Line. So, this might be the only weak link to this theory. However, there are chances that someone might have moved Birka from its place using the cloud technology of Vegapunk. So, this theory does have weight but take it with a piece of salt just to be on the safe side.
