Oshi no Ko extra chapter reveals the series' aftermath

While the Oshi no Ko manga finished serialization about a month ago, it did not end in the best way. It revealed that Ruby Hoshino continued being an idol like she always wanted but never truly explained what the other characters were up to in the future. Fortunately, the manga creators have now finally answered those questions in the series' final volume.

Oshi no Ko volume 16 gave fans one extra chapter as a final offering. This final bonus chapter does not feature a specific story but does reveal what different characters were up to after the series ended. With that, the manga effectively revealed the series' aftermath one month after it ended.

As seen in the Oshi no Ko manga final bonus chapter, Mem-Cho became B-Komachi's producer. While she knew her fans wanted her to stay an idol forever, after analyzing the group's current color, she decided to become someone who supported B-Komachi from the sidelines.

Even Kana Arima, another former B-Komachi member, continued her career as an actress and started thriving in the Entertainment Industry. She seemingly delivered an outstanding performance in her latest movie "Mushroom" and appeared as the character "Saya Yokoyama" in a Hollywood Blockbuster movie released the previous year.

As for rival Akane Kurokawa, she stopped imitating others while acting, hoping to establish her own identity. Hence, she entered a journey of self-discovery all while accepting the parts that work for her. As far as her current interests were concerned, she became interested in the occult.

The manga later explored Frill Shiranui's career. She seemingly planned on retiring and worked in a final film directed by Taishi Gotanda. The film portrayed the delicate line between life and death, depicting both the ones who are dying and those who are left behind. This work won the Japan Screen Director's Award.

The manga also explored the acting career of one other character. While the manga never stated who it was, the illustration for the same looked like Melt Narushima. If that is the case, Melt appeared in several films and dramas like "Fly for a Day," "The Edge of Shadows," and "At the Bottom of the Red Night," and received the Newcomer Award at the Japanese Film Culture Awards. He continued broadening his acting range by taking in diverse roles.

As for Taiki Himekawa, while the manga did not explore his career, it explained that he had thought of dying many times. However, he had one family member (Ruby Hoshino) left, hence he wanted to stay alive.

In addition, Minami Kotobuki seemingly continued her career as a gravure model.

As fans may remember, Yoriko Kichijouji had stopped working on weekly manga, hoping to maintain her health. However, in the aftermath of the series, she started a weekly serialization with Shokuhou (Food Report). The title for the series was 'Kakkosubee-susube-kakukotoji.' She was very nervous about how it would turn out but was determined to see it through.

Lastly, the manga explained how Miyako Saitou had influenced Ichigo Productions. Following Ai and Aqua Hoshino's deaths, Miyako made sure their talents' safety was the top priority. Hence, she established standardized social media response teams and teams dedicated to countering defamation, catering to their own SNS policy. With that, the company made sure that their talents did not face any trouble online.
