Who is Lero-Ro in Tower of God? Explained

One of the most beloved aspects of the Tower of God anime’s first season is the plethora of twists and turns taken throughout, even in the ending moments of its final episode. Many of these unexpected developments stem from the 2nd Floor’s Test Administrator Rankers, and fan-favorite character Lero-Ro is part of these rankers. While his role in these developments isn’t large, he eventually plays a major role in the series, as the second season is starting to address.

However, his return in season 2 has led many to ask, “Who is Lero-Ro in Tower of God?” forgetting who he is exactly from the first season’s events. Lero-Ro is a High Ranker with the primary position of Light Bearer who used to work as a 2nd Floor Test Admin but is now a member of Wolhaiksong and helps Bam at key points early in the story.

Lero-Ro’s role in Tower of God, explained

To fully answer the question of “Who is Lero-Ro in Tower of God?” it’s best to begin with his role in the story. Firstly, he is a Ranker who is a highly skilled Light Bearer, switching over to the position upon becoming a Ranker. He was the top Fisherman during his time as a regular but became an even better Light Bearer after, hence the switch. Sometime after becoming a Ranker, he took the 2nd Floor Test Admin job working with Hansung Yu and Quant Blitz.

His role in the story begins with the events of Part 1, which is fully covered by the anime’s first season. He’s introduced as a proctor on the 2nd Floor, giving them the Shinsu barrier test. When Bam wasn’t pushed back by the wave of Shinsu, he commented that “another monster” had arrived. The two then sat and spoke about Irregulars, with Lero-Ro leaving them all to the next test shortly thereafter.

Lero-Ro next appears in Tower of God to pitch the Crown Game, proctoring and intervening to allow Anaak and Bam’s bet on the Black March and Green April. After the Crown Game, he was the Light Bearers’ position instructor, later watching the Hide-and-Seek test with Hansung Yu. Lero-Ro then helped Khun to find a way to allow the now-seemingly crippled Rachel to take the next test, after the latter gave him sufficient evidence of interference in the last test.

He then spoke with Hansung Yu about their roles as Test Admin and the 2nd Floor’s true purpose, opposing the answer he got. This led to his resigning from the Test Admin position after the Last Examination Arc’s events. Quant was also fired as Lero-Ro’s long-time partner, with the two then heading to the 77th Floor to find Wolhaiksong and the “truth.” The manhwa then sees him and Quant run into Khun Hachuling, a Wolhaiksong member, on the way there.

This led to Hachuling giving him the work he was assigned, to keep an eye on Bam at the request of Urek Mazino, the Irregular who is second-in-command of Wolhaiksong. This led to Lero-Ro infiltrating Archimedes to fulfill this role, eventually saving Hatsu from a Workshop patrol and revealing the truth of everything to him. This included Bam’s true status and current identity, what happened on the 2nd Floor with FUG’s intervention, and more.

Lero-Ro assisted Bam and his allies throughout the remainder of Tower of God’s Workshop Battle. This was done in several ways, such as infiltration and sabotage, as well as outwardly fighting FUG Rankers in order to give Bam the best chance of survival. He even prepared a method of escape for the group, with Hachuling’s help. In the aftermath, he’s seen meeting with Hachuling and others, discussing these events and confirming him as a Wolhaiksong member.

Unfortunately, this is all the relevant information to the question of “who is Lero-Ro in Tower of God,” as he has yet to reappear in the series since the Workshop Battle’s end. However, it is confirmed that he is a current member of Wolhaiksong after doing the work Hachuling requested. However, the fan-favorite character will likely return at some point, especially with Wolhaiksong seemingly set for a major role in the manhwa’s near future.
