Yakuza Fiancé episode 10 review: Kirishima and Yoshino officially enter a relationship
Yakuza Fiancé episode 10 was released on December 9, 2024, and finally concluded the Kento Ozu subplot while simultaneously setting up a war between different Yakuza families. Although the episode was mostly dependent on character dialogue, it managed to delve deeper into Kirishima's rather perverse infatuation towards Yoshino.
The episode continued with an erratic pacing and adapted some parts of chapter 20 and the entirety of chapter 21 from the manga. Although the actual Kento Ozu subplot has concluded, its consequences will be explored in the next few episodes.

Yakuza Fiancé episode 10 recap
Yakuza Fiancé episode 10 continued the plot directly from the ending of episode 9 and began with a civil conversation between Kirishima, Yoshino, and Kento Ozu. Although the meeting was intended to discuss their next course of action, Kirishima spent a significant amount of time worrying about Yoshino's current state and whether she had sustained any injuries.
Yoshino shifted the conversation by describing how she discovered Kento Ozu’s activities after tailing him throughout Osaka. However, before she could delve into the details, Kento interrupted, claiming that his intentions had been misunderstood.
Kento explained that he was not threatening Shiota Nao but was merely reaching out to her regarding her rekindled relationship with Kirishima, a member of the yakuza. Kento emphasized that he was looking out for Nao, as starting a relationship with a yakuza under media scrutiny was a poor decision.
Kirishima dismissed Kento’s story and expressed admiration for his methods, highlighting how meticulous he was in never leaving evidence of his misdeeds. Despite this, Kirishima employed more unsavory tactics to counteract Kento’s schemes. He produced video evidence of Kento’s mother having an affair, a revelation that would have destroyed Kento’s public relations and reputation.
Losing his advantage, Kento agreed to leave Yoshino and Kirishima alone and vowed to stay away from Shiota Nao. Kirishima later escorted Nao away, promising to never contact her again.
After resolving the situation, Yakuza Fiancé episode 10 showed Yoshino and Kirishima meeting up, where Kirishima revealed the truth about his feelings. He explained how his infatuation alternated between wanting to cherish her and ruin her physically.
Yoshino expressed a preference for the former, to which Kirishima agreed. The two then played a match of rock-paper-scissors related to the promise they made in episode 8. Kirishima emerged victorious, making him Yoshino's boyfriend. The episode ended with one of Renji Somei and Gaku Miyama’s competitors learning about the Osaka incident.
Yakuza Fiancé episode 10 review
Yakuza Fiancé episode 10 wrapped up the long Kento Ozu subplot while simultaneously pushing Kirishima’s and Yoshino's relationship to the next level. The episode managed to display both Yoshino and Kirishima's resourcefulness while also depicting how their personalities and abilities complement each other.
Although most of the Yakuza Fiancé episode 10 runtime was spent resolving Shiota Nao's situation and issuing an ultimatum to Kento, the episode also managed to solidify Yoshino and Kirishima's relentless nature. The animation continued the trend of being rather subpar, but the overall quality remained masked due to the episode's heavy reliance on character dialogue.
The subpar quality of the animation became obvious during a few of the transition scenes and animation loops, where only the camera was moving. Although the animation quality remained consistent throughout the first few episodes, the recent episodes have seen considerable and frequent drops in the work done by Studio Deen. The progression of the plot remained purposeful and effectively served to bring Kirishima and Yoshino closer in an organic way.
Final thoughts
Yakuza Fiancé episode 11 will be released on December 16, 2024, as part of Crunchyroll's Fall 2024 lineup and will depict the consequences of the Osaka conflict and its repercussions for both Shouma and Kirishima. Episode 11 will also reveal a different side of Renji Somei, who has so far appeared as a rather harmless and doting grandfather, lacking the threatening presence expected of his position as a yakuza boss.
