Rathore meets medal winners of World Youth Archery C'ship
New Delhi, Oct 12 (PTI) Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore today met the medal winners of the recently-concluded World Youth Archery Championship here today.
The Indian team had won one gold, one silver and one bronze medal in team events at the Championship which was held at Rosario, Argentina from October 2 to 8.
Congratulating the winners, Rathore enquired the team members and their coaches about the overall performance of India in the championships and training given to players.
Rathore, who had won a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics, suggested that the players should adopt such events in Archery which will have better prospects at international competitions especially in Olympics.
Indian team comprising Ankita Bhakat and N Jemson Singh won gold medal in Junior Recurve Mixed Team event, while Jemson, Atul Verma and Sukhmani Gajanan Babrekar won the silver medal in Junior men recurve.
Khushboo Dhyala, Sanchita Tiwary and Divya Dhayal won the bronze in Cadet Compound Girls.
India stood 7th in the overall medal tally at the Championship
