
World Archery Championships: Laxmirani Majhi to vie for a bronze medal

It was always going to be a tough match as Laxmirani Majhi took on top seed Lin Shih-Chia for a place in the final of the World Archery Championships.
Shih-Chia got the better of the Indian 6-4 in an evenly contested contest. A score of 7 in the third set dented Majhi’s chances of a comeback as her Chinese Taipei opponent piled on the pressure with two scores of 10 in the fourth and the fifth set.

Majhi, seeded 52 at the World Championships caused an upset in the quarterfinals by ousting No. 5 seed Alejandra Valencia in a shootoff. Majhi will fight for a historic bronze medal for India when she takes on No. 6 seed Choi Misun on Sunday.
