Bolt unfazed by Gatlin's form
Kingston (Jamaica), June 5 (IANS/CMC):
Six-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt says he is not worried about racing against American Justin Gatlin at the Rome Diamond League Thursday.
Gatlin, the Olympic 100m bronze medallist from London last year, has a season’s best of 9.91 seconds and has already won two legs of the 14-meet Diamond League meet, reports Xinhua.
Bolt has won the last two 100m events at Rome’s Golden Gala which include the meet record of 9.76 seconds set last year.
Bolt, who was speaking at a press conference in the Italian capital Tuesday, said that while Gatlin is in “good shape”, he’s not worried as “it’s all about championships. I am just focusing on myself”.
Former World Champion Kim Collins of St. Kitts and Nevis will also line up in the event.
Meantime, Bolt said that despite having accomplished all his dreams, he still has goals to achieve, including extending his sprint dominance.
“I want to continue to dominate on the world stage in the next four years with hard work but I also want to continue enjoying my sport,” said the Jamaican sprint icon.
