IAAF Diamond League: Usain Bolt wins in Zurich
Usain Bolt started slowly but still won the 100m event at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Zurich on Thursday. The world-record holder clocked 9.90s, as he finished ahead of fellow Jamaican Nickel Ashmeade (9.94s). Justin Gatlin completed the podium, finishing with a time of 9.96s.
Another Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce finished first in the women’s 200m event, clocking in at 22.4s. She crossed the finish line ahead of Murielle Ahoure of Ivory Coast and Ukrainian Mariya Ryemyen, who finished second and third respectively.
Meanwhile, world champion LaShawn Merritt of the United States of America won the 400m for men’s, in a time of 44.13s. He beat Olympic champion Kirani James, who crossed the finish line in 44.32s.
