SAAF Junior Championships 2024: Full list of Indian contingent ft. Sharuk Khan

India has named a 55-member-strong athletics contingent at the upcoming SAAF Junior Championships 2024, which is set to be held in Chennai from September 11 onwards.

Among those selected for the South Asian Athletics Federation (SAAF) event is sprinter Sharuk Khan. He recently created a new U20 national record in the men’s 3000m steeplechase event at the recently concluded World Athletics U20 Championships 2024.

The contingent will also feature several other rising stars, including 18-year-old Rihan Ch, who is an Asian U20 Championships silver medalist. Asian U20 champion Laxita Vinod Sandilea is another who will be expected to lead India’s medal charge at the SAAF Junior Championships 2024 event.

Meanwhile, 400m sprinter Jay Kumar, handpicked by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), will be another youngster to look out for in the upcoming SAAF Junior Championships 2024.
