Usain Bolt receives gift from the cameraman who took him out during his 200m victory celebration
Usain Bolt was reunited with the only person who was able to stop him. Song Tao the cameraman who became an internet sensation overnight for taking out the world’s fastest man, presented the Jamaican with a gift during the medal ceremony to make up for his accident, the Telegraph reports.
Song Tao who works for broadcasters CCTV, was in charge of covering the 200m race on his Segway. While following the champion he lost control of his Segway and ended up bumping into him. Fortunately the 29-year-old was unharmed, and got back on his feet quickly and joked about the incident.
While asked about it he said: “He tried to kill me! It was like, ‘You are winning too much – take him out.’”
Bolt also joked about the incident saying that he would rather have the story go where Justin Gatlin had something to do with it: “The rumour I’m trying to start right now is that Justin Gatlin paid him off,” to which the American replied: “I want my money back.”
This was second medal Bolt won in China, He beat Gatlin in the 100m by 0.1 sec and set the season’s best time of 19.5 seconds for the 200m run. By doing so he completed the double in te 100m and 200m for the third time in the World championship.
